Default How do you know if your exhaust is leaking?

I have a Borla TD, I don't think it's leaking anywhere, but if it is, how would I know?

Paranoid because it feels like my car isn't as fast as a month ago!

You know because you know your car. If the exhaust is leaking, any part, noise will come from under the car.

start the car.... run it for a little bit... turn it off ... look underneath... you should see water coming out from the leak.

Living in LA you shouldnt have to clean your popcharger often, i would say around every 20k is fine.

If it's a Borla Td, I'd say it's leaking. It's common. I've had a couple issues with mine. The h-pipe connection seems to be the biggest trouble spot. I ended up welding it together...no issues since.

Try reving it a bit and listen for a hissss while the rpm's are coming down.

Pour some antifreeze into your gas tank and look under the car to see if any white smoke appears.

Joking of course. In my last car, I would wait for the car to cool overnight, prop it up on jackstands and start it. If you move your hand around you can start to feel some warm exhaust fumes before the rest of the piping warms up. This of course only works on larger leaks.
