I suggest you wait a little bit cause the sound changes after a few weeks. If you were really gonna do it, i'd suggest the X pipe, Its great and it mellows it out makes it more 'Zish' and you get more torque below 3500 rpm.

I ran an magnaflow 2.5" x-pipe with my resonated test pipes. It almost eliminated the rasp completely. It will also help with a couple of lbs. of extra torque.

I'm working on 2 months and its still there..... I am not 100% happy with it. I mean i can tell there were gains from installing it and resetting the Ecu, but eh.... Also, it will get better as you run your car longer....for some reason when it heats up it gets better for me.

Did the X-Pipe bring back some of the signature VQ sound?

I've had my G200 on for about 7k miles now and the sound has definitely changed from when I first put it on there. It seems to have gotten louder when you get on it but there is noticibly less rasp. Sounds great to me.

Sorry i have not kept up with this thread. I guess there is a slight break in period with this exhaust. There is a noticable improvement in sound quality now. When i'm driving it is pleasurable to hear my exhaust now.

Has anyone felt a notice difference with the x-pipe as far as bringing back the VQ sound and adding torque? Mainly the people who put the x or h-pipe said it just mellowed out the sound making it quieter, but nothing else. I had my G200 installed like 3 weeks ago, and I also had that burning plastic smell, and I have that bov sound after I let off in the upper rpm range. The burning plastic smell went away like after a few days of getting on the gas, but I noticed a loss of low end torque and Ive been contemplating on getting an X-pipe made to get back the torque. I definitely don't want it quieter, because the g200 is pretty quiet unless you mash the gas pedal, but I really want some torque back and I wouldn't mind having it sound more like the VQ sound like before.

the x may help the sound a bit by mixing the exhaust pulses, but not sure if it will really gain you any torque. I'll agree that it does change the "vq sound" but just about any true dual does, even those with an h...not sure there are any with a true x built in...
