Default Crawford Z Car Headers video

OK Z fans here it is, Crawford Z Car Performance Headers video. The sound is not what I would like it to be but we used a $5 microphone taped to the back of the car. There are outside car runs between Doug’s Daytona Blue car with headers and my Silverstone car which is totally stock except for what’s in my sig. The file is 20 or so mb and is zipped.

Again sorry for the crappy sound. The mic was outside the car and picked up wind noise. You can also hear more header “ping” through the mic than is really there.

Let us know what you think. We have a nice handful of people have already said they want a set.

Just as fast too !!!!

Dont know about price. Like I said before depends on material (Stainless or coated mild steel), how many of the bends Doug can get done by a mandrel bender, time to build collectors. They wont be cheap . . .if you compare to a DC header . . .NSX headers are like $1200-$1600 so use that as a basis (and they have nowhere near the bends we do!)

Are the headers going to use conventional collectors or merge collectors?

The NSX is also a $90K car it was way more than double the price of a Z so the headers should be way less than half the price of those headers

Hey Doug,
The headers sound real nice. I heard you chirpping second several times........cool. What would you suggest from the headers on back...hi-flow cats?, different exhaust from the cat back or just leave it stock? I'm looking to get the most HP here.......

Right now we are working with the stock exhaust sys sounds good and the muffler thats on the car is a low or zero restriction
muffler.Hopefully we will get the cats on today and see what they will do. Don't know about Titanium sure would be expensive.

Wish we could use merge collectors but there is not enough room.
However the pipe that comes out of the header to the cats kinda sorta is like a merge.

Well, $1600 isn't a bad price, if you consider Spoon headers for B16s and F20c's are $1000, and that's just for one piece, whereas we have 2. And for +13HP, it's a pretty good deal Keep us posted!

How much of a power increase did you guys get with these? Anyone do a dyno yet? I'd like to see a before and after without having to spend $$$ first.

*Custom long tube headers yield NICE GAIN in HP/TQ*

"The headers gained a maximum of 15.1 HP and 12.4 ft-lbs TQ at 6400 RPM"

Do you still have a stock muffler and resonator? Almost sounds like the resonator is gone.

Everything back of the headers on his car was stock in the video. Now, he's gone to high flow cats. I haven't seen it since they did that.

They sound really nice and the surge iof power when he stab the peddal is just whicked.

But, I dont know but $1600 is a little too high. I know that is a custom job and the production would be low so prices have to increase. Don't compare prices with a shop like Spoon or with parts for supercars like the NSX. Those DC headers must be ceramic coated SS.
