Popcharger is getting shipped out today. Since the install is supposed to be "easy" I should have it on by Wed / Thursday at the latest.

Current air filter is paper OEM.

I expect: better airflow (more grams/second) at cruise and acceleration, but I also expect it will heat up faster at idle.

It is all about the NISMO CAI baby!!! SOUND, LOOKS, AND PERFORMANCE THAT NO OTHER CAN TOP OFF!!!
Well if you think that, maybe you should check it out with the cipher too see if the airflow is really faster and "colder"

It's good to see we still have people willing to try new things in the community.

Its a freaking air filter guys! Stop acting like its gonna make or break your engine. I know how you feel, when I first started I was the same way( well close) trying to make absolutely sure I got the best bang for the buck and what not. Just buy it, install it, and enjoy.

LOL I'm just doing this for my own entertainment.

I'm an engineer and I like to know how, why, and if things are working as intended.

I have the means, and the time, so I'm going to do it.

Who cares if it's the best bang for the buck... if it's an improvement, it stays. If it sucks, it goes.

Any marketing and salespeople wanna chime in?

Let us know if it shuts down your engine at high speeds...

Dude I don't put my car in neutral at high speeds.

But even so, I don't think I would have a problem since I already raised my idle with the cipher.

I like that one to but the top of their filter is sealed, not open like the pop charger. I like the top open for the varis duct.

Interested too. I was told Stillen Cold Air box was the best, because you retain the conical air filter while sucking in cooler air....preventing heat soak. Stillen Cold Air box might be really good with Varis Duct...

I'm thinking of designing a emblem that says "Popcharged" for the rear hatch. Wonder how many of these I could actually sell?

Just in case this link was lost and buried in the old threads domain:

http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/june03/350pop/

I'm not saying you shouldn't do your pulls, I'm interested. Just thought you might not have seen this independent test.

Thanks for the link, I know I've seen that dyno somewhere but never where it came from.

As mentioned I'm more interested in real world driving conditions with the popcharger than dyno conditions.

We shall see!

Hmm very interested in this. I have the pop charger as well but if your data proves it just sounds awesome but doesnt actually do anything... then I will switch back to my OEM intake and add in a Nismo filter.

I would be interested in how the popcharger performs after the car has been driven for awhile and the engine compartment is heated up.

Yea, definitely get it. When it whistles at WOT, it is like hitting VTEC!

I just got my filter replaced last month, so it's nice and new... and blue!

I hope no one thinks I'm going to be getting "HP" numbers. Only mass air flow, temperature, air/fuel, etc.

Yea, definitely get it. When it whistles at WOT, it is like hitting VTEC!

I only have about 200 miles on my popcharger and the blue has already completely faded. Do I need to clean and re-oil it already? It seems really premature to do so but I hardly ever drive my Z so it spends most of the time covered on my driveway.

Is it common for the blue oil to fade if the car is parked most of the time.

I don't get it.
