Default OK I'm going to do it: THAT'S RIGHT I'M BUYING A POPCHARGER (and I'm not even a newb)

But seriously folks.

Well everyone else and their little sister already has one, so it's time for me.

It's stupid but I've been on the fence about the popcharger for the past year. I've been having thoughts such as: stock intake is a CAI, popcharger sucks hot engine air... etc.

But I'm different from all you people and your little sisters... I'm going to use my cipher to determine once and for all if the popcharger is a good mod or not.

I will do some pulls in my secret speed playground, monitoring all sorts of parameters. Mass air flow (grams / sec), intake temperature, air/fuel ratio.

I will also see how fast or slow intake temperatures rise when idling comparing the popcharger to stock.

Hope somebody is actually interested in this little test. Since I already have the cipher (almost like mini-dyno ) it's no big deal for me to test.

Plus if the popcharger sucks I can always sell it to some newbie who doesn't know how to search, so he won't ever find this thread.

Chime in if you're interested in this test, not like I care, I'm mostly just doing it for my own personal info!

I'm interested.

Did you have a K&N drop-in before or just the stock paper filter?

Yeah, I'm interested too. Owned my Z since March, haven't put one on yet. I'm not sure it's something that needs to be done, just because everyone else does it. Post results

Interested in the results. Still think something like the enclosed Stillen short ram intake is better at utilizing colder air than something like the popcharger.

I'm interested in the results. I had a K&N drop in before my Popcharger and definitely noticed a difference after the switch.

Yes. I guess that could've been more clear.

I installed a MD plenum spacer, headers, hfc and borla catback 1st keeping the stock cold-air box with K&N for the same reason Wired lists and then installed the Popcharger. It was clearly pulling harder, but I have no objective proof so it will be interesting to see his results.
