Default installing headers on a G35???

Seems to me it would be a little bit easier with a little more room. Anyone installed headers on one before?

Yep, it would be easier with more room.

Since there is less room, it is harder.

Plan on 8-16 hours by yourself if you have all the proper tools and are doing it on jackstands.

Yeah I pretty much will be doing it by myself. Friend has headers/hfcs/and catback to install. Never worked on a G before so I wasnt sure of all the differences. I'll be bringing all of my tools that I think ill need. no lift tho :-\

No difference from the Z underneath except a suspension brace. I did mine in 7hrs on jackstands.

I ran into a small problem...i cannot get the new header back into place...it will not fit and hits either the block or the stearing shaft...did anyone disconnect this to make it easier to actually get the damn header up in there???

did you ever get that thing installed? Did you have to disconnect the steering linkage?

My installer had to remove the steering shaft to get the header in there.

sorry for the delay in getting back...

Yes I got them both installed. WOW what a PITA!!! But wasnt to aweful bad. I just removed my TT kit and motor then tore it down so installing headers wasnt as involved as that.

I just unbolted the motor mounts and jacked up the motor a couple inches. and everything went in better. A lot easier than taking that shaft out. Atleast I thought it was.

I dont remember the exact amount of time it took but i did it over a period of two days. lots of breaks and all that so as to not get frustrated with having to turn one bolt for what seemed like 30 mins... air tools would have been a godsend lol!
