i've just received mine yesterday , i wanna get this stuff install right now , but too bad i'm at work now, just have a few questions , how long did it took you guys to install ? i know the z engine pretty welll . i had problem putting the strut bar back on , on the previous install , i hope i wont run it into it again , tell me the experienced and problems you guys had on installing this mrev2 , i will appreciate all the informations , thanks in advance
Install Is preety straint forward all you do is take the strut bar off, unbolt the top plenum(which is alot of 10mm bolts) and the bottom plenum which I beleav is 6 bolts and 2 nuts. Just be sure not to over tightn the lower plenum bolts. they are very soft and break easily if over torq'd. I found that aout the hard way.

ok i'mm back , wheeww took me 2 hours for everything to go back in one piece , but i do smell something when the engine is running i hope this is normal , i've tighten everything down . as for the gains , all i can say is damnnnnn , this low end torque is crazy , i launched the car at 3k and the rear wheels spin crazy , very good throttle respond , as for the sounds didnt notice anything , because my exhaust is loud at wot , comments are welcome
Its not uncommon for it to smell a little when its first installed. Its the oil squeezing out of the Aramid gasket, but its gone in the first several minutes of operation.
It should be completely out the next time you start up.
Glad to hear of your good results. It puts some kick into the throtle.

Anyone know what these bolts should be torqued to?

This is all in the instructions that should have come with the parts.

Hi Bugs,
Please verify that it is indeed leaking. It is normal for there to be a slight hissing sound coming from that area of the engine. Every VQ does this.
Spray carburator cleaner on the suspected leak area. If you hear a change in idle you will be able to isolate the location.
Another way to find a potential leak is to obtain a 4' length of 1/4" vinyl tubing and use it to hear the location.
Hold one end of the tube near your ear and the other end of the tube up against the suspected leak location. You will be able to hear a significant change in sound as you pass over a leak spot.
If you have a leak, it is most likely cause by shipping damage. The gaskets applied to the spacers are very thick and compliant. It would be hard to make it leak without some kind of physical damage being done to the spacer or lower plenum.
If there is any kind of physical damage, there are several ways to detect it, but first lets see if you have a leak and where.
