Default Drone on Injen SES @2k

I have an 06, installed the Injen SES a couple weeks ago. I've notice the horrible drone, typically around 4th,5th, and 6th. It sounds like its coming from the exhaust velocity not being fast enough and the resonators in the center section of the exhaust. Has anybody figured out a way to rid the drone. The only thing i can think about is putting on some test pipes to increase the velocity, maybe some resonated ones just to control loudness. Has anybody come up with a solution that has worked on their cars?

The Injen Super SES Cat-Back Exhaust System is what it is. Adding performance mods (such as headers and high flow catalytic converters) will make more noise.

Your theory is so damn wrong. You can't do much about the droning other then getting another exhaust. Test pipes will make it much worse.

Hey, I have an 06, and I had the Injen SES...I had the same exact problem, the Injens are known to drone badly.

I couldn't stand the droning, so I bought a Nismo Catback...best choice I've ever made.

Loudness I understand i'm coming from a single turbo'd car that ran an open downpipe to a borla XR-1 Muffler.... The droning is another thing, seems to be caused by something different, my assumption is the backpressure caused by the cats to the to the resonators... I saw that someone had bought a Magnaflow X-muffler and removed the injen resonators... I figured someone might have tried test pipes resonated or non.. and seen if it made much of a difference.

Thats a money pit. Honestly resonating has more to do w/ the length of piping than the resonators themselves. You can get another set of resonators welded in, and it'll do more than the X pipe alone. Also, it'll cost you 150 bucks at most.

My Injen did the same thing, like others, I sold it and got something else. Ever wonder why there are so many used Injen exhaust for sale on this site?

Funny part about the Injen is the sound is only inside the cab its not very loud from the outside. Its a love or hate thing really but being a motorcycle nut noise is my thing.

I have had my Injen SES for over two years so I guess it never really bothered me. I have noticed that the sound has gotten quieter overall over time though.
