I installed the crank pulley today and i only drove around for about 10 minutes. The engine feels so much smoother and the throttle response is alot better. Feels like a little more power but without a dyno who knows. Unorthodox claims seven days for the most power to be felt. The install wasnt bad and the bolt came off with one good tug. This is a great mod and anyone thinking about doing it, go for it. I should have the test pipes on next week and ill post a review of it.

on the pulleys..it will make 0.5 whp in a real dyno difference.... 2 whp on the butt dyno and 10 whp in the only-in-your-head dyno

the testpipes will definatly give you a nice sound and you shoudl gain a decent 6-10 whp

if i was him i would not tune it yet untill he has completed most of his N/A mods....... looks like jsut missing headers and mrev2 and maybe cams..... all that witha tune and he can get 300 whp maybe.. if he thinks he woudl get those other mods in a long while, then its worth tuning =]

Highly doubt 300 whp without some serious engine work.

jwt
cams+ pulleys+ injen cai+merv2+5/16" spacer+oil cooler+headers+testpipes+a good true dual exhaust+utec with good tune = 285-310 whp

depending on the engine.. some engines accept n'/a mods better than others

Well I had Nismo headers, spacer, nismo cai, exhaust, test pipes, pully, and utec, and I only did 262whp. I was not the only one to dyno at around that numeber, but the dyno was conservative.

I would say 280whp sounds about right.

yah... some engines can give you better than thsoe numbers that you had... so say 280-285... ad cams and another tune and you are at 300 whp see =]
plus you did not do the mrev2...what exhaust you had?

not to fuel the debate, but that combo has never yielded 300, let alone break it, on a non Dynapack dyno - everyone who has claimed otherwise, with ANY cam and anything short of a built motor, has already been proven to be FOS

even with cams?

i can't see how... my friend has 284 whp after a tune from dynocomp in AZ. and they dont use a dynojet, they use a dyno dynamics i think

and he has the sheatty ssv and crappy borla headers. if he switches to diff headers a 5/16" spsacer with mrev2 and cams he would easily beat 300 whp. , no utec.. i think he is jsut using the apexi safac

*edit* i just found the dyno sheat

tell him to try it...I would highly doubt it though

is it impossible? I suppose nothing is, but so far, not a single person with a stock bottom end (ie not alot of motor work) has done it

so you dont think with a 5/16" spacer + mrev2 - ssv + racing cams he can get another 16 whp? on top of the 284? and keep in mind this is on a dyno dynamics... if he puts his setup on a dynojet it woudl read a lil higher... 8-14% higher sometimes...

i mean i know a lot of people don't reach that but a lot of people dont do cams for n/a that much either...

some engines are like that... and you know that you have seen people with testpipes and exhaust put only 243 whp and some others 249 whp on the same dyno same day... stuff like this happens and its not a one of a kind rareness and thats why i said he could reach 280-310 whp...some reach it, some others don't

It's just a number guys... if the car feels strong and you are happy with the performance, what more can you ask for?

What's the goal? 1/4 mile times, lap times? More torque for daily driving?

I'm sure cams will add significant performance, you might consider checking out GT Motorsport's new N/a spec cams...

in order to know the accuracy of that dyno, you would need to see what other Z's put out. There mere fact that its a DD means nothing quite honestly - some shops dynos read high, some don't, regardless of brand.

As stated, if your friend is happy, that's all that matters
