Well Guys I purchased a DNX exhaust system for my 06 Z
and had it installed at a shop 1) Rattles like a ***** lol 2) LOUD AS SHIZZLE
.............I kid you guys not when I say that its FREAKING LOUD I am debating puting back up my stock exhaust, does anyone have Idea
if there is some kind of resonator I could put on this thing???

i have that exuast i bought it from some guy around town and he had a resonator put on it and its still really loud..

 

What type of exhaust "system" is it? Cat back i assume?

 

it sounds ok at higher RPMs but HOLLY CRAPOLA its insanely loud

 

Yeah its a Catback exhaust, from y pipe back actually.

 

Did you keep the exhaust on? lol this thing is making me dread drive my beloved Z!

I would find it hard to believe if it was louder than the TopSpeed Pro-1. I had that exhaust for a while and had to take it off cause the drone drove me crazy and also because I worked late hours and woke up the neighbors.

 

Would love too but too dark out and Id wake up my whole block, Iam hoping no cops get behind me or thats it 4 me

 

lol yeah no kidding does anyone have a clue as to wear to find some kind of resonator for it, I do feel somewhat of difference on the higher RPMs I have a JWT Pop charger and AAM Plenum spacer.

 

ill post video tomorrow mine has a resonator welded in i dunno where the guy got it from though... but i love the way mine sounds

 

I find it hard to believe to be louder than the rsr gt2 exmag with test pipes I had on my Z. Now that, was loud.... And I'm getting the same setup with the Z I get in March/April

 

i think mine is louder. much louder. Im thinking about selling it and just getting a simple quiet exhaust.

 

sooooooo how did you guys deal with the rattling? looks like the mid pipe is hitting the brace? can ANYONE tell me how they fixed that? and ICEMAN your post would be most appreciated ! =D

 

well. i dont have this exhaust but the major thing that rattles is my head unit and the rear view mirror. its freakin annoying. Ive fixed 5 other rattles, and these 2 i can't figure out or fix. The hu one is cause the HU lets the face plate come off, and its not a super snug fit. It goes on using clips that have a little bit of give. The rear view mirror is ano brainer. It just rattles

 

I had the same problem with my tanabe exhaust. I shimmed the brace down with some washers and problem solved. That rattling was driving me absolutely nuts , couldn't find where it was coming from lol.

 

I took off my DNX, ran stock for awhile, and now i got a helix.

DNX is just too crazy loud. You should sell it

 

Exhaust tape. Did it with my stillen.
