Cams wont affect reliability. Make you use more gas though..

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also planning on doing a utec down the road which really isn't a breathing mod, just kind of supports them. So if you have that as well your numbers will also be appreciated.

"noticeable"

I would say that there is more of a sound change than anything. I didnt feel my car pull any harder. Maybe I am not paying enough attention. With all the Na mods I have done total I have noticed a difference but not enough that would justify me to no go FI.

Just do the mods if you are going to do them the gains will be minimal maybe 20-30hp through all of them. if that.

Your best bet is to research all of this, there are countless forums.

I got 17 hp top end after UTEC tuned by Sam at GTM. List of mods in my sig. My AFR was actually at 10 with all the breathing mods before the tune... go figure.

I dynoed at JAPTRIX in West Palm Beach on Saturday with Roger and Nathan, and did a peak on the last pull at 250.8.
Mods> Nismo Cat Back, Nismo CAI, MD ISO 5/16 spacer. Car is an 03 Touring 6 speed with 31k. I will eventually go Greddy TT FI, but next mod will be a UTEC and have Roger tune it !!

Utec is the way to go especially after headers, test pipes as they lean out ur car a bit. I went from 253whp 239tq to 267whp 249tq after a great tune by julian @ MRC. I still have stock headers and the stock Y-pipe so the numbers aren't that bad

I've just read this whole thread, which is informative, but still leaves me scratching my head.
I have underdrive pulleys, Popcharger, Crafword HFCs and Nismo exhaust. I plan to do headers and plenum spacer in the near future. Also, in the longer term (6 months) I am planning to get Vortex SC.
I have no access to reflash, since my Z is not in the US. Thus, a piggyback EM seems a clear choice. Shall I go with EU/Utec alredy now or just go with something simplier (e.g. SAFC) to correct my A/F for now?

The Vortech SC comes with a piggyback and has a safe tune already loaded in it

if you really are going with a SC in 6 months then I wouldnt do anything except mods that are proven to produce with a SC.

I assume, I am doing exactly these, i.e. passive breathing mods. Is Vortex fctory EM able to adjust for these extra mods?
