Default Nismo Exhaust Install

Tried the gay search function but didn't find anything.

Anyone have any step by step with pics on installing, thanks.

Just seeing what I am up against when I install. I heard it takes about an hour and its basically bolt-on but I wanted to see the step by step if anyone has documented it here. I have access to a lift. Danka!

It takes about 3 hours to install if you know what ur doing.

Not to say it's difficult, just a lot of grunt work. Simple bolt ons.

yep, the installation of an exhaust is pretty intuitive regardless the brand of exhaust..

installed mine with my mechanic the other day with no prior experience...took around 1.5hours.

Just ensure to put some 'gasket putty' on both sides of the gasket connecting the pipes, this ensures a close fitment...should only cost a couple of bucks a tube

Also, have a bottle of WD40 ready...you'll be using alot of it to get the stock exhaust off those rubber 'hooks'...spray liberally in between these joints, they are a pain to get out otherwise.

Finally, this is not a one person job...stock exhaust can be heavy and might need someone or some machinery to hold the Y-pipe (or some other pipe) up while you're attaching/removing another...

hope this helps.

Definitely use the lift, it will save time. It took me about three hours, but a lot of that time was spent cutting a bolt off. Make sure you use a breaker bar/hollow pipe on a wrench to give you leverage as well as to keep you from rounding the bolts from repeatedly trying to get it off. There are basically six bolts you will replace and come with the Nismo exhaust kit if you bought it new, two gaskets, and a grounding screw. Other than the rounded bolt, the hangers are tough because you don't have a lot of room to get your hand around there. I just sprayed a lot of lubricant around the hangars and that helps. There are 3/4 hangar spots you need to pull the muffler off of. I would say two hours is what it'll take if you don't deal with difficulties and have a lift.

Alright my bad , but who really cares about the way i type. Does it really matter if I'm Canadia? Also this is just a thread about exhuast installation, what does it get to do with the way i type on internet?? So i think share some opinions would be more useful than complaining about how ppl type. At least I'm here trying to help with some opinions about NISMO EXHUAST INSTALL not here to laugh at others, well if you guys dont like the way i typed ,I'll do better next time. Sorry about that "Chad68"

It took me a little over an hour (including documenting the whole setup), on jackstands, and I'm 16. I'm sure you can do better .

The exhaust install is about as straightforward as possible. Just unbolt the stock and install the new one (I did mine from the y-pipe back, I'd recommend doing this too).

it is no more than an hour, hour and a half job, even without a lift.

It only fits one way, so honestly, directions are pretty much a waste - as mentioned, it is a very intuitive install

This is what I used:

http://g-owners.com/article_read.asp?id=39

The write-up is for a G35 with a Fujitsubo exhaust, but it is exactly the same thing as the Nismo exhaust. If you have access to a lift, it shouldn't take you long at all. Very simple. Plus here is the shop manual for how to work on the exhaust:

http://www.myzroadster.no-ip.org/fil...0manual/EX.pdf

Good luck!

Exhaust installs aren't difficult at all. When I did my Injen, it took me 1 hour on jackstands, including jacking up the car, carrying all my tools / exhaust down from my 3rd floor apartment, carrying everything back up, and getting the car back down.

I got quoted about 1thous Canadian for the Nismo Exhaust itself and then about another thous for install. The former I understand but I could not comprehend the install amount.
