megan racing headers
After a year of using Megan Racing headers I’ve decide to write a mini review. The first time I saw the headers I knew this was going to be a great product, even though it’s made in China. Welding quality is the first thing I look for when stainless steel is being weld together, the welding looked great and there weren’t any flaws that I could find. The price seemed super fishy since I got it for $150 brand new off of someone on this site. What the hell, I gave it a shot. There’s a saying, “You get, what you pay for.” But there’s also a saying, “being closed minded is ignorant.” The Megan racing headers were an EXACT replica of the NISMO ($1200). Since they’re both stainless steel I can’t justify coughing up another $1050 for a piece of steel that says NISMO on it. So anyways, after a year of using it my engine is still holding up great still strong as day one.
hate to tell you, but if you're not a welder, you have no business judging the quality of welds visually. Just because it looks pretty doesn't mean it's a good weld, ever. Materials quality, R&D, and others are all reasons that name brands cost more. Just because it 'looks' like an exact copy doesn't mean it IS an exact copy.
There's a good article on copy-brand parts in Import tuner that is on the stands now. I suggest you purchase it.
