Default AAM vs MD Spacer Questions

I sure hope this is not answered somewhere else but I have spent the past hour searching to no avail.

I found the plenum shootout charts on motordyneengineering's website that showed it was the best but the other manufacturer's names were left off.

After a lot of reading , it seems as though the best route to go for my 2005 NON rev up engine, is between AAM or MD's spacer.
By that I mean best as far as most HP gain throughout the RPM range while keeping my engine bay strut.

Now to my point - at last I would appreciate some answers to two questions:

1) Is there any place where I can read Dyno tests and/or reviews that do a comparison of the AAM angled spacer against the MD 5/16" Spacer?

2) Since the AAM spacer is not made with the thermal gaskets but MD's is , can someone explain how important having thermal 'management' really is?

The car that this mod will go on is a 2005 Enthusiast model with the 287 HP engine, completely stock and has just turned over the 15,000 mile mark.

Thanks

OH ****... Here we go!

I am here for the show gentlemen.

I am dancing around a dead horse and putting on my flame suit!

Anyway... to answer part of your question a spacer is pretty much a spacer the only difference is the iso thermal gasket which I hear reduces inlet temps... So search your heart out!

I know,I know!

Your reaction was expected but I really do need some advise and searching has not yielded the answers I seek.

I did try to make the questions concise rather than the usual: "Which is the best plenum spacer" which is what always starts the round and round

Where did you get that front license plate mounting bracket?

Never been happy with the way that my dealer installed the front license plate and have been looking for alternatives.

I have seen quite a few Maryland registered Z's that do not have their front license plate installed.
The car looks a whole lot better. Not sure how they get away with it though.

BTW, what prompted you to put a bag of ice on your engine last summer or early fall?

thats the z braket!

One of the site sponsors sells them.

As for the plenums I would recommend going with any brand you can find used on the market place as long as it comes with all the hardware... This spacer doesnt change after usage so save some $$ if you can, unless you want new.

I just purchased the MD 5/16 iso-thermal spacer and installed it.
Noticed that my car didnt really feel faster, which was
expected. I actually feel that I lost some low end torque but
maybe raised my Hp at high RPM. So im pretty sure AAM and MD
will be equally as good. But what I did notice was that the
Iso-thermal that you install in the lower plenum actually works.
Before i thought my car's engine bay was always too hot but
now it actually feels coolers. But it could be my mind, tricking
me into thinking that.

I race year round. In July and August the poor 350Z suffers miserably from the heat. Cooling the intake and upper plenum helps ET.

Non Revups--Crawford Plenum owns all, IF you dont mind losing your factory STB or running a Crawford bar...
