If you drilled the non fouler incorrectly, then your o2 sensor will have problems detecting the correct amount of gases.
Im not sure if mine is touching or not, I will check later. Why does it matter if they are touching?

o2 sensors are very sensative, especially on the newer 04.5+ models (wideband sensors).

If half of the sensor is blocked off the readings will be incorrect and throw a CEL.

Mine seemed to work for awhile, then all of sudden about half a year ago it came on when I was on a road trip. It has been on every since.

I was doing a little research, I came a cross this code scanner that says it's able to turn off the CEL.

Let me know what you think.

Anything could have happened on that road trip and the o2 sensor might have been damaged. If you are willing to test it out, just put the stock cats back on, if the CEL doesn't disappear you know for sure it's your o2 sensor thats bad.

If you're gonna do that, you might as well buy the Cipher diagnostic tool. You have more features, plus its very user friendly. Wired24/7 has one and it works great, i'm sure he'll chime in here real soon for some information.

YEa I used the lock tight on mine and when I reset the cel comes back 5 miles or so later, didnt use it on my bros and his cel comes back about 20 miles or so later. Check the sensors non of them on either car are touching anything and nothing is blocking them. About this diagnostic tool, is it the aam cipher your refering too? And will it keep the cel off?

Yes I was referring to the AAM Cipher tool. I don't think it'll keep the CELL off but it will tell you which code it is and it resets it.

This is one reason why I didn't get TP's. I don't want to get a CEL and then later on, if something is really wrong, I won't know because I'll just assume it's the TP's.

You can definitely use a o2 simulator but the CEL shouldn't come back after the non-fouler trick.

Since 97supra said I would :P

Yeah I have nothing but good things to say about cipher.

It's a great tool for eliminating about 99% of the unknowns associated with your car. Great diagnostic tool for basically every possible problem you could have.

Check what CEL's mean and easily reset them. Turn up the idle, or advance timing a couple of degrees to unlock some power.... and lots more

+1 Having the ability to look over vital engine functions is always a good thing in my book.

I have the HELP Spark Plug Defoulers and I do not have a CEL. Originally I thought I did get a CEL but it turned out to be for the throttle positioning sensor. Anyone actually used a scanner? Or just assumed it was the tps?

How long have you been running the Defoulers?
