Default Someone school me, please!

Intake mods are Mrv and spacer/exhaust mods HFC and HKS Ti dual exhaust. I seem to be running richer since these mods were done. Evident by blackened tips on exhaust. No tune as of yet.
Any ideas on the effects of these mods on a rev-up? Appreciated

what do you mean by effects? Seems like you already understand that the mods will make you run rich...you just need a tune to maximize all the potential in those mods. If you're close to all the mods you'll be getting, give AAM a call to get a reflash.

Causing my CES light to come on. I guess I just wanted to verify that the symptom was being caused by the mods. Planning on a Utec so I will hold off until then. Any adverse effects to running rich like this?

That is a poor way to judge air:fuel ratio. Have a test done.

How exactly do breathing mods make you run rich??? Sounds like something is FUBARed. Have it tested.

honestly, my Z always had 'sooty' (blackened) tips. even when stock.

and you have HFCs so it's possible more dirty air is getting out. airflow mods should lean you out if anything. the only way it should richen is a vacuum leak I think, right?

that doesn't prove anything. your car automatically runs rich on cold startup, until it warms up to operating temps.

you need to get an air/fuel measurement to make such a claim.
