I suspect that the silencer is inside the muffler, and your can grab the end with vise grips?

a. Squirt some penetrating fluid inside the muffler. Not WD40, but a fluid that breaks down corrosion.
b. Let sit for 20 minutes.
c. Put a block of wood against the silence. Tap with hammer.
d. Grab with vice grips and pull.
