You're a good man. At least they'll know you're an honest customer.

ALWAYS do the honest thing. And the honest thing, for better or worse, is the right thing. Always. Sorry for the redundancy.

This reminds me of the time I found a brief case full of stacks of money in 94.

I picked it up while driving through the middle of an intersection leaving my neighborhood. I brought it to the university cafeteria and while sitting at the table I asked other students what they would do if they found a brief case full of money. I already knew what I was going to do but I had to ask, "Should I return it or keep it?..."

It was pretty funny what the responses were.
1) Bury it in a secret place and pick it up a long time later to evade the cops.
2) Go to Vegas!
3) Buy lots of drugs.
4) Take all the money out and throw the brief case off a cliff where cops would never find it.
5) Take half the money and turn the rest into the cops...

That sort of thing.

Anyways, there was a BOA business card in the brief case so I called the number when I got home and asked the guy if he was missing anything. He made a perfect description of the brief case. The guy was the president of a bank and this was his excuse for having so much fresh cash. Aparently he left it on top of his car when he left for work.

Anyways, I wanted to do the right thing and let him come by my place to pick it up. To be honest though, I was hopeing for a good little compensation. $$$$$$

When he came to pick it up the cheapskate pulled a single $100 bill of the top of one of the stacks and gave it to me.

For as much money as I saved him, he should have handed me a whole stack.

Oh well. At least I did the right thing.

Glad you did the right thing. I would have done the same also.

Theres a buddhist saying that virtue is its own reward. Dont do a good deed and expect a reward. I ascribe to that policy.

Now, how much for them?
