Default GHL Motorsports Exhaust

I have an opportunity to buy a high performance exhaust from GHL Motorsports. It claims to add an extra 25 HP. Can anyone confirm if this would be a good deal at $675 including shipping.

Thanks
Brad

IF that claim is true, it is an awesome deal (notice I said "IF")

Lets see... about the cheapest exhaust I've heard of, adding about twice as much HP as any other exhaust out there. Sound to good to be true? It is.

i doubt this is true, unless it has some kind of sticker on it that adds 20 hp extra.

Don't forget the obvious guys. This could very possibly remove the cats, or be a straight through exhaust pipe.

or it could just be an outlandish claim and a piece of junk exhaust...

I just got off the phone with GHL motorsports.
The hp gain at the high rpm's is 8hp and 8.7trq, low rpm (2000-3600rpm) is showing about 18hp gain.
The owners had no idea that anyone knew they were doing this exhaust since it was a project for a performance car dealer.
They should be on the website shortly with dynojet graphs and info.
Their first guess for a price is $1100, They aren't sure since they haven't done public sales, just for another shop.
This is a stainless exhaust from the Y-pipe back system right now, since the original customer of theirs said they thought the customers would not like a new Y-pipe. I for one would want a new Y-pipe if they can find gains like other people have claimed they get on the Y-pipe.
Hopefully they will get to this site and communicate with all of us their findings and info soon.

Default GHL Response

Hi all from GHL,

First I'll say" AWESOME CAR"! The exhaust system connects to the factory flange after the 'y' pipe, direct bolt on. The tips have the stock appearance. This is the way we were asked to manufacture. The system is hand crafted, same process as our Porsche systems, using 304 stainless, tig welded and fully polished. The power gains are: Peak 8hp/8.7tq which starts about 5000 rpm and the dyno ends about 6800 rpm.
The bottom end shows the largest power gain, starting about 2200rpm to about 3700 rpm, about 18hp/10tq at the best. The mid range, 3800-5000 rpm is flat. The dyno was performed on a Dyno Jet 248C at Pro Dyno in Tempe, Az. I'll do my best to post the dyno if I figure out how to do this. The sound is throaty, more when you get on the throttle, not obnoxiously loud. Our 'patented' muffler design allows free flow without any interior resonance. To let you know how we are, we allow the customer to return our products within 2 weeks if they don't like the sound for a refund, doesn't happen often but we know that everyone has a different sound preference. Everything we manufacture is guaranteed against any defects for the time the original customer owns the car...no questions asked. We treat everyone the way we wish to be treated. At this time we manufacture for West Valley Nissan in Arizona, 623-934-3444 ext 213, ask for Joe, price is $995, $1100 is the installed price.
Feel free to call us at GHL toll free 877-930-0911 or 480-655-0935 if we can be of any assistance. The product is not on our site, we will soon. I would like to thank John for letting me know about the interest in our products on this board.
Best regards,
Brian Gerber

Thank you for your input. I have been a fan of GHL products for a while coming from the Audi scene. I would like to see pics of the exhaust before purchasing. Are there any available?

GHL, Thanks for input, keep us updated. Also, can you tell us how it weigh compared to the stock system?

Default Wow!!

I never expected to get this kind of response!! I appreciate all of your input on this. I got this price from a private owner who bought it and no longer needs it. I bought a custom system from him and asked him if he had anything else for sale. From what everyone is saying I am seriously considering purchasing it now! I will let you know if I do and how it works out!! Special thanks to GHL Motors for their input!!
