Default Nismo Exhaust Broke

I have test pipes and a nismo exhaust on my car and over the break i had to fix a cracked weld on my test pipe. I did and mentioned it to a buddy who races them and he suggested i make a brace for them because he had the same problem. I did and a weld on the nismo exhaust broke a few weeks later.
Any ideas?
Thanks

No, I think the NISMO exhaust is cat-back. They have been known to have problems with their y-pipe. OP, what part of the NISMO exhaust's weld broke?

Things will break at stress points.

If the test pipes or cats crack, there was a stress point at the test pipes or cats. Repeated thermal cycles and stress cycles caused material failure (this is always the case).

By introducing a brace that is not correctly designed, you will create a stress point somewhere else (such as in the cat-back portion of the exhaust). If you create a brace that is properly engineered, it will eliminate all stress points.

The brace i made was a copy of the one spl parts has on their 350 racecar but as an update i added flex joints to the test pipes in front of the brace and it has solved the problem so far.... i have had no problems out of it since

There are other threads here about Nismos Ys cracking with Crawford HF cats and some test pipes. It was a hot topic about a year and a half ago. Later Nismo systems have a small gusset at the Y weld, I imagine this was to try and combat this issue.

^^Interesting. I had mine with the Kinetix cats and had zero issues. Maybe I just got lucky.
