Default Crawford header install???

Yes I searched and all I came up with is that it's hard.

I would like to hear from those who have done this themselves and maybe compare it to other header installs on different cars.

Example, I put BBK Long Tube headers on a 1998 Cobra. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the hardest, I'd give it an 11. Shorty headers on a 1989 5.0 Mustang, I'd say a 4 or 5.

Let's hear from those who have actually installed Crawford headers themselves. Other manufacturers are welcome in this informal poll.

I haven't done the crawfords but I have read the instructions and it is pretty tough. The motor has to be lifted a bit because of the tight fit. It's a good 10 hour job.

I haven't heard of a lot of people installing crawford headers in the driveway. Good luck with it.

I've got a lift, screw jacks, and an awsome set of tools. I'm justtrying to plan a day. If I take off and tear my car apart it needs to be done in one business day. I've done hard jobs before I just would kind of like to hear from those who actually did the work instead of writing a check.

+1 A write up from someone, even a shop who has done it would hurt. I mean thats sorta the point of having forums.

I was going to do my Crawford headers myself but, after reading the installations instructions. I just had a shop do it for me.

wonder if anyone has installed them without lifting the motor...I've found lots of times manufacurers add extra steps to make sure you can install a component, even though it's not absolutley needed.

*I installed Strup headers in about 4-5 hrs w/ a few friends helping (1/2 helping, 1/2 talking). the header install was much easier than I thought it would have been.

PM Doug at crawford i'm sure he can help you out. His username starts with doug and has something like zcar at the end. Good luck.
