You saying "I heard" doesn't mean s h i t if you can't back it up with proof.

https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exhaust/239465-any-news-on-the-hks-knock-off.html

link for HKS Knock off discussion(a few people mentioned there were many problems..)

Which is why i'm weary about going the HKS ko route.
I think i may just stick with the TopSpeed N1.seems like alot of people love it, nice sound, and the silencers come with just in case.

the only thing i read that was bad about it is the normal complaints about knock offers which have not TRUELY been proven for this exhaust yet and the fact that one person had a hard time getting under his car to install it?

The topspeed at one time was a cheap ebay exhaust too i think.

I just htink ppl should give the knock off a little more testing time.

See, it's people like you that start bulls h it stories. You literally have ZERO information about this exhaust. So keep it shut until you do. That thread has similar people like you in it......NO experience with the product, but are talking crap.
Unless you have actual information to contribute, don't contribute.

Default 2 months and no problems...

I had the exhaust up on the lift on monday, and everything is looking perfect. I have put about 1000 miles on it so far. As I explained in an old post, I installed the HKS ko with a set of resonated test pipes. It sounded like poo. I recently had a custom exhaust shop do some modding to my setup, to quiet it down a little. Overall, it is still very agressive and pretty loud. The real problem with the sound was the rasp at 4000 rpms, under full throttle, and now I dont have that problem at all. It sounds freaking awesome, and I am very happy with the purchase. Installation was tough under the car on stands, but everything fit perfect, and there was no rubbing anywhere, including the brace. So the moral is.. so far, no rust, no rattling, and all the welds and hangers and holding up 100%. I will try to get a new video posted with how it sounds now.

i think he meant that the rasp came from the test pipes....so running without it should be fine, and probbaly a little less quiet.

Well i wouldn't be running test pipes. just the y pipe back..but i wasn't sure weather to go with the HKS ebay version or go with something i know will be reliable such as the Topspeed ProN1..I wasn't saying the knock off was bad,i just said its a knock off and half the price for a reason..cheaper material and labor i read

I installed the HKS ko this weekend. The fitment was perfect, only thing that was wrong was the bevel cut of one of the tips was 180 degrees out, 5 minute fix. I don't know how heavy the real HKS is but this one's a little heavy but the material and welds look pretty good.

As for sound it is a little loud when you get on the throttle but I'm running stock cat's. I've never had a dyno done so I can't give any numbers buy I do notice that the engine is pulling harder in the upper rpm range. I don't do too much "hotdogging" in my Z but I've had to pay more attention to shifting cause I've been hitting the rev limiter which I almost never did before.

How loud is it in the cabin if you don't mind me asking? Little as in very very little or just little. haha I hope that make sense. Also, is there any droning or rasp with your stock cats?

I've had the Xo2 HKS exhaust for the past 10 months and i haven't had one problem, sounds awesome, better performance than stock, i can have a convo inside with it running, only thing i don't like is the tips tend to get a bit brownish after a while and the left exhaust hangs a little lower than the right..

i've read with the x02, you kind of lose the VQ tone, which i love! I wont be running test pipes (HFC actually) and in a few months or so hope to get the HKS, sure its expensive, but don't expect any rasp since i'll have cats, and i wanna keep that VQ tone!

I have the HKS knockoff from ETD motors on ebay...you may see pics of my san marino 07 on his auctions(with yellow temp tag)...everything fit well, no leaks, rattles, or anything like that. the tips were not perfectly round (fixed that with a hammer)...the exhaust sounded good with the stock cats. after i had some test pipes installed there was a horrid rasp. i think mostly from the test pipes, but i think the exhaust amplified it. now that funding is looking better i think i will buy the AAM 3inch, and some AAM hi flow cats....overall i was pleased with it for the couple hundred that it cost, it came with all necessary hardware, and gaskets.
