I'm also thinking of some HFC's but everyone has a different opinion on different brands. It's hard what to choose as the best brand. I have an Amuse on the way and would like to compliment it with some HFC's but don't want it ricer loud by any means. I would'nt mind some experienced input.

I've had the Ultimate Racing HFCs for 2 years without any issues. The exhaust will be louder with HFCs which I believe compliments most exhaust.

+1 on kinetix. Decent quality. Hey tech have you tried to pass inspection with them though? I'm gonna try within this week.

also, if you are in a state where they do visual emission inspections, test pipes will fail you. go with the HF cats

I have kinetix HFC w/Borla TD and have resonate slightly at around 2900rpm and on decel. get a bit of a strange wispy noise, but can only hear that when driving next to walls. I also have headers though so that may be responsible...WOT is awesome!

For performance - test pipes.

Clean depends on state emissions test requirements. Ask in your regional forum.

It all depends on your combo. I know with what I have I hear rasp during warmup. It is real mild and I have to be outside the car to hear it. Once warm all I get is clean engine roar, but loud as ****.
