Default Will nismo get louder in time??

Finally got my nismo exhaust today, and i love it!!! It looks and sounds fantastic! But i have one question. I've been told it usually gets louder as you accelerate. Mine tends to get loud 'till about 4000 RPM, then from then on sounds stock (from inside the car) will it get more even in loudness in time? Is there a "break in" period for new exhaust?? (My first aftermarket exhaust) Thanks!!!

If there is, it's very gradual. I didn't really notice any change. I installed a spacer awhile afterward and it mellowed the sound out at idle.

i got my nismo exhaust today too and it sounds GREAT. but yeah, it does get pretty loud up till like 4500 for me and then after that it kinda mellows out, but still louder and deeper than stock. the highest i took it up today was 5000, so maybe the sound kicks back up again once you are near redline

If you want it to be louder, just add Crawford HFC; it'll sound SICK

I think any exhaust gets louder over time, or intially anyway. It has to do with the baffling material in the muffler(s) cooking, compressing, getting coated, etc. After that, 1000 miles or so, prolly a little more +1 to what gsazabi said if you want more sound. Actually doesn't have to be Crawford HFC, AAM HFC will make it loud as **** too and I'm sure others, or just TP will do the same and more.

Kinda nervous about Test pipes. So i'm leaning towards the HFC. I love the sound of my Nismo. I just want it a tad louder and no rasp.

Here's what the Nismo exhaust sounds like going by at 100 mph and 5000+ RPM.

My Nismo exhaust sounds louder than the posted sound clip but I also have the Injen intake and the Kinetix V4 plenum. Just avoid test pipes , we have a local member adding Crawford HFC's and I was told they sound great with the Nismo so after I hear his setup and like it that's the route I will be going.
BTW I like the sound of my setup just fine Im looking at HFC,s to get a little more HP for my NA setup.

I suggest you skip on test pipes and go straight to HFC.
I think Nismo with HFC sounds just perfect..perhaps a little too loud to some.
Nismo with test pipes get loud...I mean LOUD!
I used to have both setups and when I put the test pipes on
I couldn't drive the car around because it was so embarassingly loud.

I kinda noticed when the car is still cold the Nismo isn't as loud, but when the car gets hotter and warmed up to operating temp the Nismo gets that nice loud throaty sound.

Just a quick update if anyone cares. I've put just at a hundred miles on it and now it has really opened up! Did some highway driving, seemed to help. This exhaust is great!!! It sounds even better now that it has "broke in" some. Don't think i will be getting HFC's, i really don't want it any louder then it is now. Thanks for all of yal's help!!

Default Louder

It will get louder, mine has gotten alot louder over time. Dont add the HFCs to your Nismo will make it sound raspy.
This is about the best sound clip i have of mine
