Not using the cat bracket on your exhaust will cause this.

I am making my exhaust from the headers to the mid pipe one section. My 928 i had a pipe from the manifolds back the end of the car with the muffler with no flex pipe and it never cracked. It was on the car for 5 years and it was fine. The engine in the Z just moves to much. I dont see how having extra flanges would help when the bolts do not flex...

If you want it to crack, keep on doing what your doing. If you want to make a smart move, get good test pipes, and a y-pipe and bolt them on. Don't weld everything together, which is a useless idea especially on the Z.

Eh i had two flex pipes in it did you not see from the pictures. I don't see how the hell that is going to differ from having bolts in between the resonator and the flex pipes???
What i am going to do is use four flex pipes and the cat bracket (two before the bracket and two after it). 2 resonators, into a universal Y pipe, then a muffler then connect the muffler to the midpipe and make some exhaust hangers where it attaches near the midpipe. I'm not spending 800$ on high end test pipes and a ypipe when i can make my own for alot cheaper. If you search you even see name brand pipes like turbo xs breaking.
