Default thinking about doing a custom exhaust

I've wanted a dual exhaust for my car for a while now. I'm pretty good at welding and fabricating, so I'm debating making my own custom exhaust. I'm not really looking for process tips. Like I said I'm experienced in stuff like that. I was just looking for some feedback as to how you think the setup would turn out. I've designed two, one with an x-pipe and one with an H-pipe. I'm also open to suggestions about the components. I was thinking using 3" tubing. Will that kill my lowend torque? Anyway here's the pics.

Edit: Also that's not exactly how it will be, just an idea of the route.

do 2.5. You're passanger side rear can will hit the evap canister. I suggest doing a transverse setup like most aftermarket exhauasts OR mounting the muffler further inward and route piping to the tail like the Injen design. I opted for the transverse setup for better aerodynamics. That setup will sound fantastic btw, and have reduced rasp. If you plan on keeping HFC or ur stock cats, i suggest against the set of resonators and only do a muffler. The X pipe behaves like a silencer.

Oh I should do a little background. I plan on running a single turbo kit later, but honestly, god knows when. I will probably also keep the stock cats for now, but maybe upgrade later. I really like the diagonal look for some reason. That pics just an idea. I'll have to figure out the exact route whenever I get under and get parts. And most likely the angle won't be that drastic, just to give an idea.

I'm estimating the cost of supplies to run around $300, so that's not really bad considering what most bolt up kits go for.

Single turbo? That X pipe is a waste then. Just get a reverse Y pipe made, and get resonators and run it w/o a muffler. Itll have a sweet *** note, and itll be loud.

It will probably be a while before I go turbo. The idea of the H/X pipe is to get rid of the stock y-pipe. I also don't want it too loud. Louder than stock, but not annoyingly so.

In all honesty i suggest getting a reverse Y pipe fabbed up and getting a y pipe back exhaust. Itll cost the same, and have better quality and sound dampening

Ok. Got a few more questions though. If I do that should I keep the stock midpipe/resonator and just do what's behind that or replace it with straight through pipe? Also would it be worth it to do what you suggested, but fabricate from the cats back? Thanks again.
