Question Question on Borla installation

I am about to pull the trigger on a new Borla TD. I'm getting tired of the 65 mph highway drone of my Injen TD everyday on my commute to and from work. (assuming the Borla does not have this drone from what I've read)

I've read in a lot of threads that this exhaust should be welded because the 'collar type' clamps that come with the exhaust don't seal the seams and it can leak.

Has anyone tried the "c" type clamps? I will be using an air ratchet so I should be able to tighten everything nice and tight and have a bunch of these laying around in my garage right now that I would use.

PS, I will be selling my Injen SES TD once I get the Borla on, nice and cheap if anyone LOCAL is interested.

Had mine installed with the clamps that came with it and after a year - no leaks and it sounds great. Have taken it to two track days, 3 autocrosses, 2 road ralleys, and lots of cruiZes - no leaks.

Same here. No leaks for me after 17k miles....using the original clamps.

As long as it's installed properly there should be no issues. If they rush or put down the instructions then that's where issues come into play.

And no, the Borla does not drone on the highway. You'll love it.

Great info guys, thanks for responding. The Injen is a great exhaust and the drone probably wouldn't be that much of a problem if this wasn't my daily driver or if I was 19 years old and into the racing scene.

I will be installing this myself, so I will be sure to take my time and tighten everything nicely.

I found it for $857 shipped, can I find a better deal than that?
