from the looks of that box, and i think he only got one box... someone reused one of their boxes and stuffed everything into one box and sent it out, i don't see why they would do that if it were an authentic exhaust... i wonder who got the other box..

Everything was in the one box. I sent all the pictures I posted here to HKS. They haven't said anything about one or two boxes. They are talking with Japan on what to do next. I expect to hear from them tomarrow.

do you mind telling us where you got the exhaust? and why is it that you are the one having to contact HKS? i would think you should be talking to the people you got it from and they should be taking care of it while they ship you a new one, hope you paid for it with a CC

well good luck to you, that definitely is an hks box, but its only the smaller box of the two that it comes with, i don't think hks sent the exhaust out like that, my guess is that it was either from a distributer, wharehouse, or vendor... and its probably more likely someone lower on the food chain to get an extra buck, i doubt any distributers or wharehouses would ship something out like that because, they know what the hks looks like and how many boxes it comes in, also they would be risking alot more and are looking at a much larger loss if they were caught, all for about 6-700 bucks? i don't think so, lawsuits, loss of business from vendors, and losing distribution rights for all hks products is not worth triple digit profit

also if you look at the SHAPE of end caps on extra canisters next to the muffler you would be able to tell if its a fake, from pics that i've seen of the fakes thats the only noticable difference

im suprised that HKS didn't put their name on the exhaust somewhere to authenticate their parts, this is one of the main reasons i only order from trusted sponsors and vendors, saving a couple of bucks isn't worth all of this, im pretty sure a vendor like intense or mynismo wouldn't have even shipped out something like that and if it did come like that they would take care of it and not have you contact hks yourself

btw, thanks for keeping us posted, let us know how it goes

The main reason I am taking care of this myself is it was a brother-man hook-up deal. Its hard to go back to that company and say thank you for the great deal that you hardly made any money on but I have a problem I need you to take care of as well. If I need to involve them I will. But not until I have too.

Just wait until the exhaust fails at the rear hanger due to fatigue. Mine did.

That's bullsh1t, they probably knew they were giving you a piece of **** and that's why the "great deal."

As for "hardly made any money" ... I don't see how you could know that.

That would be a good point if this was the first time I have dealt with this company. They are not some fly by night shop. I have known of this company and have dealt with them before on many occasions.

Take pictures of the mufflers and the resonators. That's where you can tell the main difference between the real HKS and the knockoff.

In regards to HKS quality, the welds are horrible for a $1500 exhaust. Other than that, I love it.

Can you confirm, did the box look like it had been opened before you received?

I know you are trying to protect the company due to your loyalty, but don't be blinded by it. The person you deal with may not even know the switch took place.

I still think that they are abusing your trust, that's what it looks like from where I'm sitting.
