I bet someone else has already asked you this but i dont want to read 4 pages to check. Where did you buy this exhaust from? There is a good possibility that maybe they scammed you and sold you one of those ebay knockoffs. Are there any HKS brandings on the exhaust system itself?

I'd only buy it from an AUTHORIZED DEALER listed at HKS.

Default update

I talked with HKS who talked to HKS Japan. They have pulled the current lot they have in the USA and are working on a solution. May be a bad batch?

They said they would be happy to warranty the exhaust but because they have the same lot number at HKS USA it would likely be of the same quality. He is talking to HKS Japan, and there exhaust division to try and resolve the quality issue. So I am waiting

Bad batch? I'm thinking they at least have a VISUAL quality control person. They have to be VISUALLY INSPECTING them before they box them, I would guess.

Usually, bad batches are the cause of something that is not visual, like weak spots (ie Axis wheels). HKS would be too big a company to be shipping stuff out without even having a visual inspection.

Really, I think you got sent the knock off. The exhaust is supposed to come in 2 boxes. The packing material in your box is attrocious. Whoever sent that box, didn't give a crap how the condition of the exhaust was in when it got to you.

Look at how the TEIN springs were "knocked off." Looked like the real deal, logos and all, but obviously, there were differences.

Default *Update*

I got a hold of HKS today. They said that the pipes protruding into the exhaust are normal and would not effect HP output.
However they are going to make a production run change and if I wanted I could wait 3-4 months for them to warranty the exhaust i have for one that doesn't have this problem. I told them I wanted my money back I will go with something else!!!
I never thought I would have to check the quality of HKS. It goes to show once you get big quality and customer service go out the door to make a buck.

that looks like a knockoff due to bad welds and show pics of full exhaust not just little bits and pieces.... that would help greatly...

They couldn't match the price I can get it for

I am going through the vendor I got it from and sending it back to HKS. Luck or not I won't trust HKS again
