Default Center Plenum Bolts???????

Do the six Center Plenum bolts just connect the top of the plenum with the bottom or do they thread down to the engine?

no actually due to a stress crack I ended up modding my upper plenum. I removed the bolt posts on the inside and welded the bolt holes shut. I went to Start the car this morning and couldnt idle properly and kept dying. Since what I did was basically like Kinetix plenum (no center bolts) I thought it would work fine. However I check kinteix site to see how theirs is installed, I saw that they put smaller screws into the empty bolt holes on the lower plenum. I think this is my problem and I need to stick some bolts in there

Thanks

cool, thanks I really appreciate your help. After the crack I went to order a crawford plenum.. and they no longer stock them Doug told me I could get on a waiting list but even if they get enough people it would be close to $500.

I hope this is the problem...... I have bolts that will fit in there hopefully plug and play, lol

Yea well if you cant get the ones for the Crawford plenum I know the kinetix has them aswell. The Crawford only has 4 small molts because they still have 2 long center bolts. The Kinetixs on the other hand uses 6 so might as well get the kinetix bolts.

Might want to put a bit of Locktite on those bolts.

The CrawfordZ plenums come with those short block-off bolts in a bag with Locktite on them. It wouldn't be good if they came out.

The bolts from my spacer fit the bolt holes, I was just worried if I needed longer ones if they thread past the lower plenum.

Do you think these bolts not plugging the holes in the lower plenum are causing this? happened right after I put on the modded upper plenum, having a hard time understand why it would cause stalling but who knows?
