Cat Bypass Pipes
Has anyone attempted to replace their catatlytic converters with cat bypass pipes? I did this on my NSX and it added more top end and made the exhaust note more aggressive. I know it's not the "green" thing to do but if it makes the car faster and sound better...

I'm looking at producing some soon but the problem is that they make the car run to lean for safety so you'll have to use an S-AFC II at the minimum to increase fuel at certain points.

But it doesn't solve his dilemna because it doesn't bypass the cats. It goes after the cats. The Cats are the real power robbers and I would like a good high flow cat myself.
My car is loud enough as is, plus I hate drone and the smell of no cats.

Someone made a post about a month ago that said they were working on a high flow cat.
Try a search on cats you might find it.
Bypass is easy. Remove the cats and construct an ORP,
The 02 Simulation part shouldn't be that hard to solve. The exsisisting cats have them in plain site as a matter of fact.
Dumb question, would say any Nissan simms work if the engine was the same or is there a different way to trick the ECU?

Ok you guys check out, the I bought some horse power thread just got back from some dyno runs and this is what the high flow cats did. They have not thrown a ck eng light and are totally OBD II compatible.

yeah but we are talking about NO cats not high flows. the high flows still burn exhaust. when the cat is absent, it is very different for the second set of O2 sensors. how long have you had the high flows on? one day or months? the longer you test, the more results mean. doug if you have some spare time, see what happens for all of us on this board when you run the car with NO cats whatsoever and just a pipe in their place. I realize that if the MIL does not light up then it could potentially hurt sales of your high flow cats, but I will say, if someone is going to buy high flows, they aren't doing it to keep the light out. could you do us that favor since you seem to spend a lot of time down there and obviously have the ability to whip up some pipes?

We actually tested the Esprit Straight-pipes on the G35 Coupe. In our opinion this doesn't provide much noticeable gain on the dyno, even with the Nismo Weldina exhaust system A/F is fine, remains at ~13.8 all the way through. My personal opinion is that paying for high-flow cats would not be a good investment...
