for anyone that has this drop-in filter.. was there a difference in sound vs. the stock filter @ high rpms?? just wondering..
There's no real "sound" or "exhaust sound" difference, except for one thing, that the others have already pointed out.
It sounds like someone left a tiny "window" open in the air intake manifold... like a sucking air sort of sound that isn't present with the stock K&N.
With that said, I'm selling my K&N and going with a CAI.
Send me a PM if interested.

It's taken me a couple of days to answer this question as I only installed my K&N on Monday. Now it could just be that I 'think' I hear a difference because whatever it is - it's subtle, but after running it for 4-5 days I really believe there is a slightly clearer, more open, smoother note and I have to equate that to better engine breathing. Even if it doesn't do much to performance - I believe the K&N is a good investment if your not going CAI.
