I recently purchased this plenum at a very cheap price through a forum member parting out his car. I installed it yesterday, and have driven the car about 22 miles running arrons and what not.
I am impressed with the overall new performance and feel of the car. Its almost like it has a new life. The engine growls through the low RPM's like a highly tuned V8. Accelaration was greatly improved over the powerband, and the tourque was equally improved as per the butt dyno.
I have gotton over 10 people give me thumbs up on the way the car sounds. I think together with the Nismo Cai, and the HKS TI exhaust, its a beautiful sound. I cant wat for the Test pipes and the Utec tune this weekend!!!
Here are a couple of notes that you will have to know before you buy and install this plenum.....
1. If you have a CF Seibon hood (maybe all) the hoods will not clear the plenum at all. Even though the plenum has a cutout for the strut bar, and you can use the factory engine cover, it will not close. I think the reason for this is the inner re-enforcment skeleton on the CF hoods are thicker than the regular oem hood. it barely fits that!
2. Even though it says the strutbar will clear, you might want to get a couple of washers underneathe the bar mount to get some additional clearance for the bar. (dont worry 2 of them wont touch the bottom of the hood) This will erase any vibration noises from the plenum touching the brace.
3. PLEASE make sure you use the RED locktite on the inside (6) allen bolts that cover the stock mounting holes for the oem plenum. If these vibrate loose, your engine is TOAST!!!!Its better to have a pain in the *** getting them off if and when you part out your car for whatever reason.
4. There is a cork gasket that comes with the kit,use it in conjunction with the oem gasket. DONT WARP THE OEM GASKET!!! Make sure you tighten the outer 10mm bolts in a paralell manner. Just like you do on your rims.
5. When unplugging your throttle body heater hoses, some of the coolant may spill into the lower plenum. Take a terry cloth or microfiber cloth and wipe it with any oil that is there. Make sure there is no cloth fibers left on the lower plenum. This is also your chance to clean the inside of the butterfly in the throttle body. It will be mildly covered in dry oil.
6. The car will sound very different when you first drive it. Dont worry, its the plenum and the engine breathing better. If you have a nice freeflowing exhaust, enjoy it. It will be nice and growly.
Overall im very satisfied with the plenum. Ill post more on here as the days pass.

i was surprised how sturdy the plastic on the kinetix plenum was when i held one . with that said, i wouldnt put a plastic plenum on my car, along with testing that shows its the worst performing plenum mod besides the ssv, i wouldnt recommend it over any other plenum modification on the market. it is better then nothing i suppose. i would love to hear one in person.
Based on the fact that there are very few NA mods that make any substantial difference in performance, i'm buying one. If nothing else for the Bling and the sound. Everything i have heard is that it sounds amazing. Worth my $$. And if it's not, i'll just sell. Cheap enough to take the gamble. Good write up. Thank you! I have been waiting for someone to do one to help me decide!
