Default Warning For All 2007 Z Owners

After being assured by Nismoshop (WCN) that my crawford hi-flow cats will fit on the 2007 Z, I went ahead and put it up on the rack and installed. We took the old cats out and before putting them in noticed the flange is 100% different. The bolt spacing is way off and the piping does not match up. I had a friend bring a set of Kinetix test pipes over to see if those would fit.. same problem....

So for any of you (Especially you Zlady) looking to put test pipes/hi flow cats on the 07 Z... DO NOT DO IT.....It's a waste of your time/money.. wait till there's official word that there's a set for 07..

I've now officially wasted 500$+ on these and a minor bit of labor on my part....

I'm going to call Jeff tomorrow from WCN to see if I can get a refund... Scott said he'd have to talk to Jeff and see how it's handled.. so hopefully I get my $ back..

But to be honest... i'm really discouraged right now with modding my Z....

I think I'm going to drop it, put the sways on (provided they fit????), and a set of nice wheels + a system and that's IT.... I'm done....

Really really bummed out... and now officially broke if I can't get $ back..

To all the vendors... don't quote that it will or "should" work for a certain year unless you've verified first hand.. while you may not be to blame, you are selling a product of which you have know first-hand knowledge of...

Good luck to the rest of the HR's.... maybe this car wasn't meant to be modded?

I think it's a mix of being tired and wasting a lot of money on this car...

Now if the hotchkis TVS fits the 07 I'll be happy.. put my wheels on.. and i'm done for a bit...

sigh.. but still would've been nice having the hi-flow cats... oh well maybe someday they'll have something out... I'm just very leery of 07 mods now..

I feel your pain man, I have a 2006 and I'm impatiently waiting for someone other than INGs and Veilside to make a front lip that fits the 2006/2007 bumper.

More on topic, there are thousands of 2003-2006 Z owners who might be interested in these test pipes. Considering they aren't used, which should be apparent from their appearance, you would have good luck selling them in the private classified section (that is, if the vendor will not refund your money).

Just sell them and get your money back. I'm sure someone is looking for some testpipes.

I dont get it? You can make it work if you want to. Also if you have no money and now your broke because you bought the cats, doesn't that tell you something? I duno just relax stuff will come out soon. I bet you wont stop modding your car too so just take that little bet you got with your self and forget about it.

For the ******* MILLIONTH time. The car JUST CAME OUT. Give aftermarket companies time to research and design parts for the car. Shyt doesn't just automatically happen.

You obviously have blinders on.... The whole point is Crawford claimed that they test fitted them on an 07 and that they are working. They relayed this information to WCN. I know "****" doesn't happen automatically, I'm not new here. It's called frustration, nothing more... go **** on someone else's thread.

What exactly are you trying to infer? When I refer to broke, I'm referring to my mod money. I wouldn't buy a (Z) if I couldn't afford it, k thanks.

I'm simply going to take my time and slow down. Just dumped 5k into a car that is 3 weeks old, trying to get prepared for shows...

It's simply frustrating that manufacturers make one claim but then reality flips the script on you.

I spoke to Jeff @ WCN who has always helped me and is a valued vendor. He offered two solutions:

1.) He'd pay the labor bill to have the Hi-flow cats modified to fit the 07 model
2.) He would refund my money and allow a return of the product... with some store credit.

Jeff was very helpful and professional and put me at ease. I chose to return them for now and receive a refund+. Apparently Crawford misinformed them, but they took accountability and that from a consumer standpoint is A+ service!

I'll be revisiting some Cats/Test pipes very soon. I may way for a plug/play option however to avoid the hassle again.

Thanks Jeff.. for everything!!!

Ok.. since very few people can verify stuff for 07's here is what I have on my car since the day I bought it:

Wheels= P45Rs - Royal Black +20 F/R 265/275
Sways= Hotchkis Sways
Cat-Back True Dual w/Xpipe Custom Exhaust (This is where i noticed the flange difference at the Cats.)

So these items work. Suspension looks identical to the 06 so lowering etc. isn't an issue.

Unhappy

Looks like you got a good start. I would go with option 1. since an exhaust and cats are the only mods out right now for 07's. I wasnt insulting you BTW just curious why someone would spend all there money on cats! But you didnt so thanks for the clearing that up.
