OEM clearance under strut bar
Out of curiosity, could someone measure the gap between the strut bar and the upper plenum on an stock setup? I forgot to measure mine before I installed my MREV2 + 5/16 spacer and was now curious as to what the factory felt is the minimum spec. Is it the same gap on both sides of the engine? My hood is raised a bit on the drivers side and I'll be adjusting the strut bar to try and correct. Seems I currently have around =/- 1/4" gap and I don't notice any issues with acceleration or noise. I've seen people say that the thickness of a business or credit card is enough. That sure seems like it would be too tight.
Thanks alot,

When i first installed the plenum spacer, my strut bar was contacting the plenum. Even with the spacer, so I put washers underneath and still contacted. Then I just loosened the strut bar to make it wider. Then I have about 2 credit's card clearance.
I can understand what you mean when one credit card's enough especially when the strut tower twists from cornering and strut bar hitting the plenum. Shouldnt' be a big issue though..

I think tonight after work I'll lower the strut bar a bit to try and even the height of the driver's side of the hood and the fender. The reason I asked about the OEM clearance between the plenum and the strut bar is that I'd like to maintain that gap if possible. I don't notice any problems with the bar and plenum right now, but given the choice between the hood sticking up just a bit and having bar/plenum issues, I'd could live with the hood the way it is now. Although I see it everytime, I'm not sure most people would without really looking hard. Just looks cheap.
