heres on a Z. and outside. love it cuz it keeps that 350z/g35 distinct sound, unlike any other exhaust made for them

well if its similar to the tanabe exhaust with sticking with the "distinct sound".
why do u dislike it so much. i mean, ****, it sure does give a good power gain from what i hear and see from dyno

Mine sounds deeper...not as metallic sounding. The growl is there, but you have to take the edges off of it.. it's more mellow.

My exhaust is similar in that it produces a new different exhaust note....nothing close/similar to the HKS sound. HKS does give good power but im the type of person that would sacrifice a few HP for sound. Heck the exhaust is basically the #1 thing you hear while driving and i shure as heck dont want the HKS sound...so i opted for Tanabe and much happier, as i was looking for an exhaust note something different than most Z exhausts out there.

Yeah, that would be cool!! PM me when you get a chance and I'll give you my cell#

Speaking for myself, not offended at all. I was actually a little concerned about the sound myself until it was on the car. I'll PM you.

Please learn to respect others.

I would respect the opinion and not make a big deal of it...I wouldn't call a person and idiot or get tempered about a guy not liking the color of my car or my exhaust for that matter...It's sucks that this thread has gone in the direction it has and it may be my fault...I don't care about someone not liking something I have..I simply started this thread to inform future buyers that the HKS sounds more raspy to me and that they may want to hear it person first before paying $1,000+ just because people are saying it sounds great...And by the way, the exhaust on most of the videos on the net, sound nothing like what I heard in person...

I actually rode down the street in his car and it sounded pretty good in the cabin of the car, but once i got out and he got on the throttle, it really sounded raspy in the higher RPM range...It could just be his car and/or his exhaust..I don't know... I'm very interested in hearing it again on a 07 Z...Maybe my opinion will change... Anyways, I'm done....Sorry for making such a big deal and having a personal opinion...Sorry for being an idiot, though I'm probably more educated than the average person... Sorry again

Hey bro dont be sorry. It is not your fault that this thread got where it is. Its the fault of those people who posted nonsense remarks about how you should keep your opinion to yourself and/or you shouldn't tell someone how their exhaust SOUND sucks kuz they like it. It is just a freakin' opinion!! BTW I would like to thank you for informing me on how this HKS exhaust sounds. I almost bought a hks hi-power until I read other peoples OPINIONS about how this is not a so good sounding exhaust. As for the people who are familiar with or own a Tanabe exhaust, I would like to read opinions on how this exhaust sounds as I may be interested. I would get TOP SPEED exhaust too but correct me if I am wrong, I HEARD the TOP SPEED exhaust is poor built quality and it does not fit properly. Also it is welded poorly and may cause leaks. Is this true? If not then hey, I rather get the top speed exhaust and top speed Y pipe because in MY OPINION it is a great loud sounding exhaust.

Again bro it was not your fault, you enlightened some of the folks on my350z.com including me, who were about to pull the trigger to buy an HKS exhaust. This kind of a post will also help future buyers of a product to read public opinions on products before actually buying it rather than buying the product because of its marketed hype.

We should have more opinion posts on more products just like this, but without people arguing on why you shouldn't give your opinion.

Just my .02 cents.

I think it sounds like an F1 v6 version..

But its all good dude its your opinion.... It does take away the sound of the Z but I think it makes it sound so aggressive

Well, thanks but I do think I should have worded it a little differently...I just feel that the Z should have a more unique tone...That's why I like the stock, borla, nismo and Stillen TD...They keep the deep, unique tone that makes the z so famous...

Velocity:

The topspeed exaust is great in my opinion.I have a DNX exaust(knockoff of the topspeed) and the quality and sound of it is great.I felt no torque loss like others have said(mabey cause i have a rev-up?) but i did feel some ok butt dyno gains at the top end, but my exaust wasnt bought to produce power, it was bought to compliment the parts i have that do produce power and to give my car a powerful "sounding" exaust note. with that being said, i do feel however, that it does make some sort of power.Just get the topspeed. You wont be disappointed.I inspected the welds on the exaust when i recieed it and had a local race fabrication shop inspect it as well and they all said it looked to be great quality.I have had no problems with it and i am the second owner of the exaust.fitment is good.

Cool thanks Any other top speed or non top speed owners wanting to give their opinion on this exhaust as far as build quality and fitment goes? I would sure appreciate it.

I love the way the tips look on the HKS, but I personally went with the Fujitsubu Ti for it's toned down sound.

Quick Reply: HKS sounds "Ricey" to me...
