I finally heard the HKS Ti in person today on a 06 G35...IMO it sounded like total crap!!! I'm really not trying to offend anyone that has it or likes it, but to me, it made the car sound like a celica or civic...The guy only had the cat-back and he told me that he was planning on adding TP's...I thought to myself"GOD,please don't let that happen"...It just ruined the car in every aspect for me...I guess I was hoping that it sounded great like the majority of the people that have it and say how awesome it sounds...Does anyone else feel the same??? I would much rather keep the stock exhaust than pay over $1,000 for a fart can sounding exhaust with little to no gain...Anyways, just my opinion..

 

Your opinion is unsolicited. No need to disparage HKS owners. If you do not like the HKS, or any other exhaust, don't buy it.

I don't think it sounds horrible, but definitely doesn't sound better than the stock exhaust. Not worth the money IMHO

 

your on crack. my nismo felt like i had no gains whatsoever, the HKS and hfc combo gave me a 19rwhp gain. stating the it sounds like crap is subjective but stating the it has little to no gain is ridiculous

 

yes, finally someone had the guts to say what i have been thinking for so long. nice exhaust, great N/a gains, looks beautiful, sounds like a honda.

 

Meh, I think I'll stick to the Borla, Stillen, or Apexi Ws2 systems.

 

I must have heard about 15 HKS exhausts today and the dyno day...and I dont think they sound bad at all...exspensive..yea...but "ricey"?...IMO, no

Im Not Knockin Hks But I Went With The Xo2 Knockoff And Kept An Extra "g" In My Pocket.some Might Say Negative And Its All Good But Saturday I Did The Dyno At Motorsport Auto For The 2007 Z Nationals And I Put Down 262hp And 249torque.not Bad Considering All I Got Is A Jwt Popcharger And Xo2 Exhaust So Somethings Gotta Be Workin.

omg I was just about to order the HKS hi power exhaust and now you guys tell me it sounds horrible! I was originally going for TOP SPEED but i heard they are crappy exhausts and leak and what not, is that true? I so wanted to get the HKS because I love its angled muffler and how it all comes out. So whats a good loud sounding exhaust that goes vroom crackle/pop ?

 

Nissan hit the nail on the head with the exhaust note that they gave the Z. I hope they dont change the sound when they redesign it.

I've heard it in person as well, and thought it sounded pretty good. I guess that's what you get when you ask for SOUND opinions on the internet - inconclusive results.

Damn!!! I didn't mean to **** anyone off!!! LOL...It's just my opinion!! Can't someone express an opinion??? I just keep hearing how the HKS is the "best" sounding exhaust for the Z and I wanted to give my opinion...It in no way sounds better than the stock exhaust..With TP's maybe that's another story, but I really don't see how anyone can say it sounds good when it gives that notorious "Fart can" note...Maybe it was just his setup and I'm sorry for having an opinion, but the more I spend time on these forums, the more I want to stop coming on here for info and OPINIONS on certain parts...It was just my opinion and what sounds like crap to me may sound good to some of you...I'm not the type of person to jump on a bandwagon so I'm not gong to back down, but if everyone is going to be so jumpy on certain OPINIONS, I won't bother posting anything else! Wired, if you don't think it's important to give personal thoughts on certain products, you can delete this post..I could care less!
