I have the MR headers & test pipes, along with the INJEN SES true dual exhaust system. I also installed a Magnaflow x-pipe muffler (behind the test pipes), which is attached with a couple of braces to the chassis. My entire exhaust system is highly secured, and it does not rattle at all (hardly moves). And the sound is simply amazing with this setup. No problems whatsoever, and I've taken it to the track and auto-x at least 1-2 times a month.

Anyone here running the non-foulers with the Megan testpipes? I was having my shop install them with the nonfoulers and they said that the passenger side cat-delete pipe had the 02 sensor bunge not at the "ideal" location, and that it would most likely shatter at the first speed bump if i installed the nonfoulers on that side. I only have Tein-stechs on my car, so its not lowered too much. Anyone have problems shattering the 02 sensor on the passenger side?

Megan is cheap, and you usually get what you pay for.

I just got the test pipes installed a couple days ago, and I hear a weird noise after around 3 or 3.5k rpms when i go WOT. It sounds kinda like the injectors firing, and it gets faster as the rpms get faster. Sounds normal, but im not sure. Only happens when i floor it. Just cruising and during normal acceleration... doesn't happen. This is normal right? It's just the sound of the engine getting through the exhaust better since the cats are gone?

So after reading this thread my decision is now made and I'm not touching the Megan Resonated test pipes. I have a Borla TD and am looking for a good test pipe or resonated. Anybody have the Borla setup with a kick a$$ Test pipe?

Since the start of this thread , Megan racing has changed their design with a flex section in it. The only one on the market.

Also anybody have a sound clip by chance of the Borla setup with Megan cats or if you have this setup i'd love to hear a clip.

I just got the new Megan test pipes and they look very nice and with the flex section I don't think I will have any issues with cracking. Plus they come with the 02 sensor fix already welded on.

I have the new version of MR test pipe also. Over 1000 miles so far, no crack no problem. I don't even need the non foulers, the O2 extension took care of it.

1. How in the heck does a hollow tube (otherwise known as a "test pipe") "burn out" your exhaust?
2. How does a welded o2 bung (thats not even remotely close to the extreme temperatures primarily exerted on the header tubes and initial flange) simply "break off"?

I think multiple stories on here are bent truth. Secondly, of course you will hear different harmonics resonating from the exhaust, you have no noise dampning effect from the stock catalytic converters. Lastly, if your car is lowered, you openly admit to driving it hard after saying "after all this hard driving", common sense would say that you most likely were driving it like you stole it and ran over something in the road without paying attention and simply ripped the o2 sensor and bung out of the test pipe.

it's vibrating on your heat shield...just go underneath with a hammer and flatten the bends in the heat shield and your problem is solved

MR has came a long way I have there full 3" exhaust on my GSX for about 20k miles and still rocking it. The car is AWD and have been through so much stress from launching at the drag strip.

+1 for megan gust give them a few more years guys.

P.S. Changing your cats to TP will mess with your computer trying to read air/fuel mixtures to run your engine properly. All these story's about burning exhausts and not running right after the install, You got to let your computer compensate for the 0s sensors reading wrong. A ECU reset would help and if not then switching to HFC will work! Just my 2 cents

Did a little research before I got em and heard all kinds of they'll break stories , but I've had them for about 3K miles (DD 100 m a day) and no issues , REALLY loud at times and that annoying RASP at 3K when you let of the gas(common with most test pipes) ,but LOVE the sound and freed up feeling they give the z. for 120 bucks give em a shot. (Pop charger and Nismo catback installed btw)
