I want to get a new dual exhaust system. so, i'm just checking the pulse of the tribe... For those interested in getting an aftermarket true dual exhaust, who do not want Stillen for whatever reason, or the other one ..injen? the one that sticks out sideways (actually at an angle) .. are we waiting to see what Borla is going to release? I think I have beat all the exhaust posts to death, but I need specific verification... It seems that Borla is getting high marks in the consumer-friendly category & in output also. And yes, they are supposedly coming out with a true dual system, right? That we can expect to not get 'cornholed' as they say in the South by Borla?

Stillen Comment Corner.

I was actually planning to get a Stillen exhaust, (true dual, available now, good preformance claims, price ok, etc) but I went by there place the other day & talked to one of their "Performance Specialists" ... admitedly I am a dummy when it comes to automotive anything, which I am sure the "Specialist" could deduce immediately, but the one thing that has stuck in my head was his offhand comment that one of the performance benefits of the Stillen system is that is weighs less than stock. Why would he feel obligated to say that? It was totally unnecessary & the results is that now I think I am in Borla waiting mode. I think I need automotive counseling. I need to go see Dr. Melfi.

 

What is the big deal about the Stillen Guy saying a benefit of his product is that it is lighter than stock? (I am assuming it is lighter than stock?)

 

>DING< VQRacer Wins! He lied, assuming that what I have previously read is correct, that the stillen system weighs more, which makes sense since it includes TWP pipes rather than the stock single.

But in any case, I have not seen any hostility or antagonism against Borla products on any threads here. So...we wait for Borla.
