Default Fujisubo Headers question

Guys.

I have spent a couple of hours searching for the answer but didn't get there....

I have just had delivered a pair of Fujitsubo headers from Gruppe S Engineering in Hayward CA, they apparently bought the headers by mistake from Japan without realising they only fitted RHD cars! Still, their mistake is my good fortune as I bagged a great deal.

I know fitting them is going to be a long winded and knuckle skinning job so my local Nissan dealer will be doing it.

My question is, once they are on, should I reset the ECU? And, would I get the full benefit of the swap with a UTEC or HKS Fcon??

Thanks for your time guys.

with just the headers i would not worry about the piggyback or new ems.

Resetting your ECU gives you instant gains from your mod. If you throw them on there your car will run fine, and will slowly adjust levels to compensate for the extra air producing from the headers. Either way the headers will make minimal gains that will make your wallet cry Nice set with out a doubt, hope you enjoy.

You don't HAVE to reset the ECU, however, it's generally recommeneded that you do with each mod. The ECU will learn to adjust to the new mod, but that takes a while. On the other hand, if you reset the ECU now, it'll be faster at adjusting as everything has been wiped off.

You could get a tune, but if you're going to add more bolt-ons, then I don't know if you should. Currently, all you have are the exhaust, spacer, and soon, the headers. While these mods will affect your AFR, I don't see it varying greatly from it's proper AFR range. If you're really that worried, go get a few wideband pulls on the dyno and take a look at your AFR range. I'd recommend that you leave the tuning for later on, when you'll have much more mods.

Appreciate the answer my friend.

I understand that the potential increases are not much bang for the buck so to speak. The headers only cost me about 300$ delivered though!

It is though, part of the long term plan to fit a Vortech SC and I hate the thought of the headers laying in the garage gathering dust!
