To be completely honest with you, at first, I did not like the looks of the FI exhaust. But it all changed once I started seeing them more frequently in local meets.

I think the FI exhaust looks a bit more subtle than the HKS. It isnt too aggresive.

I like the looks of the HKS, but it started to get a bit boring to me seeing how common the HKS is in the 350Z/G35 community.

FI is a bit more common in the G35 community rather than the 350Z; but trust me, you will see 5 HKS exhausts for every 1 FI exhaust. Reason being, FI is a somewhat new company. But their reputation has grown tremendously for their service, quality work, and sound.

The FI exhaust looks great on a G35 because it also has that hint of "class" to it; everything seems top notch. (I think it will look great on a Z too.)

Whereas the HKS just screams aggresiveness [in looks].

Trust me, you'll love how it sounds. It sounds like a deeper version of a Porsche/Ferrari exhaust

I just noticed you ordered a custom TI tip [HKS] to the Fi exhaust. As far as that, I have no idea how it will look.

PS. Here's another video, just incase you haven't seen it. Click here to see Video

nice...

lol don't quote me on that. I'm just saying what other people have stated. Either way, it sounds damn good.

I think the proper word for it, instead of "ferrari/porsche" would be exotic. I don't have the guts to compare our cars to a Ferrari

I've had the HKS for about 40k miles. Have always had non-res tp's so don't know how it actually sounds w/converters. Went to FI b4 making my purchase and first thing I said to myself was, "nice finish but looks too much like an american style exhaust" I was looking for an aggresive look to complement the Z's lines. Cannot knock FI, to me FI mufflers looked plain and a bit pricey. My HKS has ZERO rasp, and have had no problems.

well, I ordered the Fi and it came in yesterday. I unpacked it and 1st thing I notice is one of the titanium tips was bent, which sucks! Sucks even more is their on backorder from where they get em in Canada. However, Tony @ Fast Intentions was very easy and a pleasure to work with. Within ten minutes of my call he had UPS on the phone and a call tag for them to pick em up on Monday. So, I have to say...it's nice to work with a company that has great customer service.

CarlosZ - I am with you here, I am also concerned it's not aggresive enoough looking. The tips did look nice in the titanium and weren't small at all. We'll find out after I get it on the car though.

I love the HKS sound @WOT. Freaken exotic.

Bottom line is buy whatever you like, no matter what these bashers say. Do your own research. Listen to sound clips.

Remember you always get what you pay for.
i have the HKS, at high rpms sounds exotic, it is not raspy,
it is not loud at all, thats want thing i didn't like i wanted it a little louder.
at low rpms low tone ones you step on it gets loud pass3.5rpms
i dont have test pipes but i'm getting in a few weeks high flow cats
will see how that works.

I'm runnin the HKS and it is everything that I expected. Ive had HKS exhausts on my last two cars and have never had an issue with quality. Plus the sound is amazing especially with a spacer.

Yeah, the h pipe design is antiquated & could be better. We fabricated a better flowing x pipe on mine... It's a better flowing design than the h pipe, because it virtually eliminates exhaust turbulence (from the Bank 1 & 2 compression and exhaust strokes) that the h pipe is known for. I was also able to net a few more ponies on the dyno with the x pipe and some more fine tuning... :-)

I got the FI system on my Z... Excellent exhaust, Tony rocks and top notch quality on the exhaust. Sounds mean and is quite loud.

Awesome to hear, considerably louder than stock? Yea, Tony is pretty cool! I got damaged tips on mine and he took care of everything smoothly! However, it did take quite a while to get back to me...

All I care about is quality, sound, performance, and service when it comes to an exhaust system.

The HKS is an awesome exhaust, but its name could mean nothing more than a name to me.

Just got mine

It sounds excellent; it has a mean, deep tone to it, with an exotic throaty sound.

I don't know what the tech was talking about, but he said something that he needed to remove the exhaust heat shield because it wouldn't fit the Fast Intentions exhaust??? I hope and assume he wasn't talking about the cats.

If I remember, I saw him remove a two small covers near the stock muffler to the right and left that he didn't replace... I think.
