I've never heard of Fast Intention. What's their intention?

I struggled with the same decision also before deciding on the HKS. I have headers and resonated test pipes to go along, which will definitely make any exhaust loud. My exhaust is raspy at WOT but sounds very exotic which I like. The FI sounds a lot more tame but looks almost worst then stock IMO. Just like Lawy'dU had posted, looks like something you would put on an american car. I guess I sacrificed a little bit of sound for awesome looks . Just my 2 cents.

oh yeah, the build quality of the FI exhaust looked nice, while the HKS looked extremely sloppy and I do not like the H pipe desing.

I've had it for a while and have loved it and have had a number of guys with the FI exhausts say that they wish the bought the HKS one instead.
And what does this make you? An HKS Fan-Boy?

Doesn't everyone have their own opinion about these exhausts, which is the reason he's asking for them?

I've heard both of these exhausts many times in person. I like both, but the thing I couldn't stand was how high-pitched & raspy the HKS sounds at WOT.

HKS sounds nice; but it's just not for me.

HKS is not raspy or high pitched. Not at all. Not even with unresonated test pipes.

Is that why they had a recall recently? ha - there was a thread on here somewhere with really crappy quality finishing on an HKS... the pic showed one pipe protruding into another at the joint. just ridiculously low quality. the OP said the US division was going to recall the entire batch sent over in the last shipment or some such thing...

these are both members of my car club so I have heard, driven and been around them alot.

^ +1....HKS sounds ugly at WOT when you are next to it. People that say it doesn't sound in anyways raspy have not been next to their car at WOT. Design is cool but the exhaust note is not great, only time the HKS is "low/deep" is at low-medium rpms. FI...never liked their exhausts...sound basically stock and look basically stock (well now you can change tips).

...man prety much any exhaust with unresonated test pipes will have some rasp...especially the HKS since it already has a raspy note at WOT.

I'll leave the rest to the "HKS fanboys VS FI fanboys" come backs

To the OP....patience is key man. Really try and find some time to listen to them in person, both exhausts are in opposite sides of the spectrum: HKS=loud / FI=quite...i think you should try and look into the Greddy or other exhausts that are also true-dual

That's because you don't own one or can't afford one.
I love the HKS sound @WOT. Freaken exotic.

Bottom line is buy whatever you like, no matter what these bashers say. Do your own research. Listen to sound clips.

Remember you always get what you pay for.

I recently read here that HKS had quality issues with the Ti exhaust. I have not bought an exhaust yet for my Z, but in the past I have had installed many HKS exhaust on cars and the quality has always been top notch. I like the look of the HKS but I love the sound of the RSR. The smart thing though with cops handing out "modified exhaust tickets" would be me going for the Nismo exhaust or any other "stock looking" exhaust.

Wow...accusing me of not being able to buy one without even knowing the person so high school...pendejo. I could afford a damn Fugitsubo Ti if i wanted too...HKS exhaust note is nasty IMO. My friend used to have it which is why i know i don't like the exhaust note it produces. You want exotic note then think Amuse. Take your fan-boy cap off and let someone take off in your car and listen to it...especially at high RPMs where its screams raspy. Also the HKS IMO sounds more like a Porsche exhaust...that is only at low RPMs...other than that not even close to exotic

If you guys want to hear the HKS Hi-Power with different variables: Crawford cats, Fast Intentions resonated test pipes, and now Turbonetics.

Yo Kevin, How did this install go?

I decided, went with the FI's, trying something different than the norm.

So did you end up installing? If so, tell me all about it!

You to are starting to make me a lil nervous. Seriously, I love the way the HKS looks...nice and agressive. I thought the FI might look a little more aggresive with the 4" TI tips, so I ordered it like that. I really hope this FI doesn't look like b**ch exhaust!!

First, I do not have a FI exhaust; but I do plan on getting one.

To be completely honest with you, at first, I did not like the looks of the FI exhaust. But it all changed once I started seeing them more frequently in local meets.

I think the FI exhaust looks a bit more subtle than the HKS. It isnt too aggresive.

I like the looks of the HKS, but it started to get a bit boring to me seeing how common the HKS is in the 350Z/G35 community.

FI is a bit more common in the G35 community rather than the 350Z; but trust me, you will see 5 HKS exhausts for every 1 FI exhaust. Reason being, FI is a somewhat new company. But their reputation has grown tremendously for their service, quality work, and sound.

The FI exhaust looks great on a G35 because it also has that hint of "class" to it; everything seems top notch. (I think it will look great on a Z too.)

Whereas the HKS just screams aggresiveness [in looks].

Trust me, you'll love how it sounds. It sounds like a deeper version of a Porsche/Ferrari exhaust

I just noticed you ordered a custom TI tip [HKS] to the Fi exhaust. As far as that, I have no idea how it will look.

PS. Here's another video, just incase you haven't seen it. Click here to see Video
