Default Cold Air or Ram?

Now that I have the car, it's time to start the long process of making it what I need it to be. I have always in the past used cold air intakes, and after losing my last car to HydroLock caused by the cold intake, I am thinking of a Ram intake instead for my Z. There are so many models on the market, and prices range from 40 bucks to 400 bucks shipped. I most likely wont be going to the track anytime soon, and want some immediately noticable gains for around the city. I need input and experience calls from you guys who went from stock to aftermarket intakes!

Popcharger FTMF Win. I have had Nismo CAI and Injen and a popcharger and Popcharger is the best and loudest under WOT. I actually already posted about this in a simliar thread read it. https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exhaust/281190-jwt-popcharger-or-nismo-intake.html

I don't know of any true RAM intakes for the 350Z. The K&N Typhoon Air Intake is a hybrid RAM with the intake behind the grill, and the filter inside the engine bay.

Haha its when the motor sucks in water through the intake.

I have the jwt right now and just bought the nismo CAI. I doubt I will notice any diff so I really just go the intake for the nismo badge on it. haha.

K&N drop in filter. ALL aftermarket intakes for the Z are pretty worthless until you are well over 400whp

idk about the JWT filter. im guessing alot of ppl just bought it cuz its only 90 bux.

but anywayz, idk if id go with the typhoon. a few techs and guys from the store says that 3 Z's that were dynod lost some power.

im running an injen CAI. sounds really nice. alot of ppl say it sounds like a BOV. from when i shift into gears it whistles of a tone pretty damn cool.

Stillen...driving around the city causes heat soak which will affect the JWT/Injen SRi basically any short ram. CAI really do nothing to the Z either...some even lose power and are overpriced. Stillen is a short ram intake with an actual funtional heatshield that will fight heat soak, thus leading for better response at low speeds.

+1 on the Stillen. Heard a lot of good things about it.

I just picked up a Fujita F5 from here:

Well I did some serious research and decided to go with the PopCharger. I liked the "hood closing it off" idea, and like I said, hydro lock sucks, so the CAI was last on my list. It will be here by Tuesday, so I'll post about the install, and what if any noticable difference I see/hear...

Go with the new Injen MR tech, they are both CAI or SRI.
