what kinda gains have u felt from that?
any difference in sound/ tone?

Dude I am very interested in those. I want a set. That would basically make your pipe an offroad type set up. It should sound different and you should see some good hp gains since cats are very restrictive.

 

Wouldn't the ECU wig out cuz it's got an O2 sensor attached to the cat to see that the cat's working or not. With this pipe, it won't see jack... or are you guys working on the ECU so it doesn't look for this O2 signal? If so, I WANT I WANT I WANT.

 

They make these little modules that are dummy O2 sensors you hook up to it. I have seen them work before on other cars.

no alterations to the ECU program to prevent the CEL from coming on....

these are stock factory o2 sensors...

as for power gain. its pretty grunty as reported. i havent driven it yet... as for noise level, barely noticable over stock.


as for the sale of these units. these are strictly a prototype unit and if everything goes well we'd expect to sell some either individually or as a package deal with the ECU....

Is this legal? I mean, you're suppose to drive with your cats on.

The cats that are used this are'nt as restrictive as those on the past. I think there is not much power to be found removing them.

They look pretty nice tho, is that black powdercoating?

 

So you guys did flash it back to the original setup to make sure that the changes you had made weren't the reason that the CEL light wasn't coming on?

 

In California they are not legal for street. Keep your Cats handy as you will want to reinstall them to get by smog inspection.

 

please post when you drive the car long enough to know if the Check Engine Ligth turn on or not.


P.S. You can see a 10+ whp from removing the cats!

DarkTalon: its high-temp paint.. just a prototype for now until we've determined if we really like the design.. then we will be producing more with various materials... the paint right now is to prevent rusting..

 

Calif? They are illegal on every street or road in the United States. I want a pair! I don't drive my car enough for it to matter and when I do I will probably be driving it to the track anyways.

 

when you do state inspection here in Texas, they don't look under the car anyway, so even if you have the stock cat removed, they wouldn't know, unless your emission number is high.

These looks awasome. If they dyno more than 10hp, then it's definitely worth it!

 

Uh yeah, without Cats, your emissions would be stupid high.
