Default 06z air box

I bought the pop charger about 2 months ego, and got ride of my stock box, I though I kept it but it’s gone.
I heard that the 06 does better with he stock air box than any intake

Where can i buy a 06Z air box new?

Any comments on the pop charger vs. stock air box

buy an airbox stillen. and the JWT puts inside. it is powerful, and your filter is protected. the top

limps has air Stillen protects the filter from dirtiness, and the hot air of the engine. one is several' S in France has to have done that, and it goes very well. (JWT pop charger and airbox STILLEN)

my point is that the stock 06 intake works better than any form of cold air intake for the 2006 350z. well thats what i've read on this forum.

the jwt is not a cold air intake it is a short ram and if you can find a way to better seal the filter from the enginr bay heat (stillen air box) then the jwt should work better then the stock set up.

I agree. and in addition to the airbox stillen and of tone jwt, you a airduc (V1 or V2) puts. and, it is the best. much cold air for your admission. and less attached than the airbox OEM.

ill make it easy for you to understand (cuz i can't understand what the guy from france was talking about, no offense)...get an 06 airbox (either check in the blackmarket or goto mynismo.com) then buy a k&n drop in filter for it. and you have read correct, the oem airbox is far superior then any cold air intake (at least for the z) and i think your not going to get any gains from if you swap to jwt or whatever. just my 2 cents

i bought my 06 airbox from a dealer...they just pulled it off of one of their new z's so they could put in an aftermarket cia.

i payed 90 bucks for everything including the z tube.

you could also check the forums here in the market section...people are always selling stock airboxes

Many people will sell you an 06 airbox for cheap.

Else, a dealer will charge you 100-200$ ...

I wonder with my mods..spacer, plenum, tp, and exhaust if I will gain hp by going back to my stock intake ...let alone if I get a drop in with it..Im not sure I like the jwt...feels kinda like I lost my immediate pop....i think its cuz of heat issues.....but Im gonna try it and let everyone know..

thats my issue. i have motordyne spacer, HFC, exhaust, and jwt popcharger. but i read that the o6 does better with the stock air box, i dont know if i should get an air box again????????
friday i'll be getting the mrve2.
the stock air box fits into that space like an air duct thus it can get cooler, maybe that makes a difference or maybe not.

i think the problem witht the pop charger is heat soak.

Does anyone have a stock air box vs aftermarket intake dyno. Without one this is just a guess isn't it? Besides, why not install an intake, and get a ECU tune.

stock 06 airbox is best when it comes to sucking in cooler air. CAI's are too long to benefit, and short-rams suffer from heat-soak. (I've had all 3 set-ups)

I now run my oem 06 airbox with K&N filter, great for summer heat.

Yeah, I'd love to see some sort of proof in the form of a dyno graph. Never new our intake box was a little different than the previous years. I mean, if it is indeed better than any aftermarket intake, then there certainly should be a gain in power.
