@ the OP.. I don't think 2007 Z owners are going to want to do this to their intakes. The exhaust modification sounds ok, but drilling holes in an intake is just rediculous, especially on a brand new car.

I agree it is a little hackish. Nobody is going to be staring at the front of my intake boxes anyway. I will run up at Moroso and get a trap speed for everyone.

I'm going to try and be as simple as I can on this one...

Drilling holes in the stock airbox won't do anything except screw up the airflow characteristics of the stock airbox and make more intake noise.

Taking out the air guides won't do anything except screw up the airflow characteristics of the stock airbox and make more intake noise.

Cutting up the stock exhaust (removing resonators) might net you a few hp, but nowhere near what you can get by replacing the exhaust with an aftermarket one. Not only will you get less restriction (no resonators, less muffler, no cats, larger I/D, better flowing Y-pipe etc.) but you'll get the side benifit of removing weight.

I agree with the above comment, I puked folks. LOL

Let me comment on the 07' thing. Since I own a damn 07' with mods and put it through hell.

The intake mod you posted with the holes and all won't do anything for performance. Not trying to be rude or mean in any way shape or form. It just won't. You are wasting a good 2 hours of your life turning your airbox into swiss cheese.

The exhaust system is very restrictive on the 07's. In stock form the car makes peak power in the 7k rpm range, thats the best shift point. When you add tp's, y-pipe, and a cat-back you basically open this sucker up. It will pull hard all the way to redline. You can shift at 7500 rpm and it will keep moving. The filters arent too restrictive mainly because it's a dual intake design, so yielding a few more ponies is possible with a aftermarket cone setup. This is why i'm waiting for the fujita setup with the piping + filter.

Lets all just calm down and post some very rare exotic car pics.

I'll start.

I got to tell you the car pulls harder in the upper ban with the mods I did. Much quicker in 2nd and 3rd gear. The swiss cheese is sucking air. Will you give me a driver weight bonus at the track - I'm 235. I need some buck 55 guy that can shift.

I'm not saying it didn't add power, but if it did it didn't add much.

Do you have stock cats?
