What so special about a Z tube?
I have searched for the last hour... I am curious to know why the stock Z tubes are selling for so much. I happen to have one laying around and might want to sell it if I cannot use it.

i wouldn't consider $50 bucks (shipped) a lot of money, because that is about what you can get one for second hand these days.

Like the others said, the "Z-tube" is for G35 (and FX35) guys. The Infiniti's intake pipe has a sound baffle in it. The straight through pipe on the Z's flows better and supposedly gives you a few more horsepower. It does make your intake a little louder/more aggressive sounding, which is fine with me. I have a UTR chrome Z-tube and a JWT popcharger on my G coupe.
That's another thing too... the standard intake pipe on the G isn't anything special or pretty to look at. A polished, chrome, or carbon fiber Z-tube is a nice addition if you want to do any engine dress-up or bling out the engine bay.
