Default JWT/Injen hybrid intake...

I was reading the review on John's Z and the person who said it listed a JWT/Inject hybrid intake...what exactly is that? like a pop charger on the inlet tube of a injen intake? lemme know whats up guys...thanks

btw I know this is an old question to be askin...does the heat shield with the JWT pop charger stil take away power? I bought a pop charger like in september when it was the only mod out...took it off after I heard complaints and its been sittin in the closet since...

SoCalKid- John's set up is Ingen piping between the throttle body and Mass Air Meter. Pop charger is on the other side of the MAM.

I also have the pop charger (JWT) and the injen on order (should be in by wednesday) I also ordered the adapter plate (or whatever it is) so I can hook the pop charger to the end of the injen down in the grill area.

I will post pics after the install.

Has anybody done this yet? Does anyone have any dyno results with it?

all_bark- Where did you get the adaptor kit from? I'm currently running the Injen set up and was interested in installing the pop charger.

I ordered the injen and adapter from Coz. You can find him in the vendor classifieds section. Seems like a very good guy. He got it directly from injen.

I read a few threads about heat soak in the engine bay. I checked my engine and it is pretty damn hot in there after a medium length drive.

I used to be a 3rd Gen RX-7 supporter and alot of the tuners solved this problem with a carbon fiber enclosure for the filter element. I think that would work significantly better than the regular heat shield.

If nothing like that could be made I think I would go with the AEM CAI and try to coat the top pipe with something.

Doesn't look like that strut[sic] brace can be tensioned. Is that important?
