Question Help!! Injen install problem. SEE PICS

Hello everyone. I've just installed my injen track edition exhaust and after wrestling it around for a while (doing it myself), I finally got it done. But here's my problem. The passenger side muffler is sitting considerably lower than the other. I tried to make adjustments and such, but with no luck. The exhaust tips seem to be in a good position, just not the muffler. Could this be a manufacturer error? I don't want to raise any flags if I'm just doing something wrong. Thanks for any suggestions and help.

That's normal, mine is the same way too. Did you have any problems with an exhaust tip sticking out farther than the other? I had to cut about an inch off the driver's side midpipe cause the tip stuck out a lot more than the passenger's side. I know I wasn't the only one with that problem, I remember reading a thread or two about it.

oh btw, how do you like the sound? I think it sounds great once the exhaust is warmed up.

I wouldn't think that this is normal. All the others that I've seen are pretty much level. I'm going to get back under the car tomorrow and loosen everything up and see if I can get things a little closer. Even if it means lowering the driver's side a bit. I don't have any problems with the tips though. They seem pretty much spot on. I absolutely love the sound. But I now understand what people are complaining about when they talk about the drone inside the car. It does pretty bad, but doesn't bother me, I don't mind it.

I'll take some pics of mine tomorrow. Some of the pics I've seen have the passenger side lower than the driver's, and some look pretty level.

your driver side you gotta loosen the last piece and twist the pipe your tip should move slightly to the left and the muffler should lower down i have the injen track as well and mine was hitting on the passanger side right were the tip elbows out it was hitting the black metal bracket behind the back passanger wheel. Making a vibrating noise i just loosened it and twisted it a lil and it worked. anyone else have a problem on the passanger side? and btw my driver side tip stick out like a quater inch more then my passenger

this is a ? for anyone whos installed this system. i got it installed sunday and everything looked fine, went to check the rear yesterday and noticed the passenger side tip started melting the plastic in the exhaust cutout on my car. i tried everything i can think of but theres just no play in the hangers to allow it to sit a little lower. im not certain but that hanger u have to install yourself that comes with the kit, is there maybe a certain side to that peice thats suppose to be facing the body of the car when u bolt it down???? i dont need much just enough so i can stop this melting from happening. also whats the best way to get the melted plastic off of my tip now? one more thing, that same hanger im asking about, i noticed that the exhaust pipe thats using that hanger is resting on my rear sway bar. shouldnt it be sitting off of the bar and not on it because i do notice some rattle and im almost certain thats where its coming from by the looks of it

Did you install the little hanger that comes with the system for that side?

The left side tip is so far off center, it's laughable. And of-course you mentioned the problems on the right side. Has anyone got this system to fit properly?

Lots of people have. It's all in the order of what you tighten.

I got mine to fit perfect but needed a couple of wee tweaks. The bracket on the right side was touching on mine too, i just pushed it and it bent slightly and is not out the way. My tip on the right had side as a bit higher then the other so i just stretched the rear utmost rubber on the right hand side and pushed another rubber into the hole I’d stretched and it sits perfect. I love it!!!!!

This is a common problem with most true dual exhaust systems. The pipes are independent from each other and the tips are sometimes out of alignment. You just need to keep adjusting the hangers and the pipes to get it aligned correctly. Mine are still not lined up slightly and I gave up straightening them up.
