Default test pipes or hfc with nismo exhaust need help with decision

hey guys im planning on getting either test pipes or hfc i have a couple of questions for you guys and yes i have searched so please be helpful.

question #1: If i plan on going FI will test pipes and hfc compliment this setup
question #2: which will yield more gains test pipes or hfc
question #3: ive heard that test pipes and hfc lowers your torque but gives you increase in hp is this true and why would you do this to your car if your giving up performance for performance and how much hp should i expect at the rear wheels.
question #4: i have nismo exhaust so which test pipes or hfc should i choose because i know that nismo exhaust cracks most brands of hfc and test pipes so are there any that don't break with nismo exhaust.
question #5: does anyone have a dyno of test pipes or hfc on their cars so that i can see the gains if possilbe.

you try to search through 650 posts that is exactly the problem so many people don't search so when you go to search later on you go to every post about a subject and it says go search and you never find useful information.

For performance go test pipes.

You now have 651 opinions to consider.

I'll concede to that because i have felt the same way before. But yeah as davidv said test pipes for performance. and yes they will add a little rasp. also yes I lost a tiny bit of bottom end when i put on high flow cats so i assume the same would be true for test pipes

I'm going with Vortech, I have Berk high-flow cats. I don't feel like I lost any low-end with the cats but it is a lot louder.

You might want to think about just changing the whole exhaust before going FI. The Nismo exhaust is great but when you go FI it could be a little restrictive.

That is funny and so sad because it's true.

Just do test pipes...theres no point to HFC's. Its not like you need to smog anytime soon anyways. TEST PIPES FTW!!

I used to run both TP and HFC with Nismo exhaust.

Let me tell you this...Nismo with TP will become LOUD...I mean LOUD
I had TP installed and took it off the next day because it was so embarassing to drive around.
IMO Nismo with HFC sounds PERFECT. TP will only give you a few more whp over HFC anyway..

Plus, if you ever go F/I it'll be pretty pointless to even use Nismo exhaust since it's REALLY restrictive and non TD.

I went with HFC's over non-resonated TP's after the fact because:

1) They were loud as FAWK.
2) They rasped horribly.
3) I didn't want to deal with the smell.

I love my UR HFC+Nismo combo and everyone else whose heard the before/after agrees.

then with all due respect you're not taking the time needed, or not searching properly. This same question has been asked and answered I bet 100 times, if not more

1. yes
2. test pipes, slightly
3. don't ever ask another tech question of the person who told you that "info"
4. lots of options, depends on your budget. We've used the Invidia test pipes and Ultimate Racing cats time and time again with the NISMO catbacks without incident.
5. doubtful that anyone took the time to do a before and after of just cats

Expect about 6-10 whp from test pipes, and 4-8 whp from cats. Test pipes, even resonated ones, will be louder, and will also smell. Cats are more expensive, quiter, and won't smell.

Be prepared for smells if you go with test pipes...I know from experience.

The Nismo with test pipes is loud but not embarrassing loud... but then again, maybe I drive like a grandpa compared to other people.

At WOT, it sounds badass IMO.

Once again, rasp is over-rated.
